they didnt make turbines in 16" i dont think,
if they need a respray and rubber id say 120-130.
but theyre getting pretty rare now so if you dont buy them, im sure someone else will!!
i was just reading about this on c16v!!
the valver one has a yellow and green,
yellows the ignition live, and green does the "no charge light",
do i need to connect both so that the alternator will work properly??
why does the "no charge" light need to be connected so make the battery charge...
yes it will fit, straight in, on the same mounts (upper gearbox might need moding)
wiring may be interesting though!!
a few people have put the F7 engines in mk2s
oh really?! how annoying!
the plug to the williams/valver alternator was a 2 pin plug, so there are two pins on the alternator, any idea which one it needs to be connected to?
well ill be cutting my engine look down tomorrow lee!! im gna do the same, untape lots then cut out all the un-used plugs and trace the wires back as far as i can and tape them up!!
aahh thanks a lot!! im building a track car and using a williams alternator and mk1 alternator brackets, so the plug on the F4 loom didnt fit,
ill just leave it unplugged since i was planning on running a voltmeter anyways!!
sorry to dig this up but what size belt did you use in the end??
im running what i think is the volvo set up, and the belt that i used on my F7R is no where near long enough!!
did i read correctly that youre meant to use a 850mm 5rib belt with my set up??
thanks
heres a pic of my set up...
What does the little plug (not the big red wire) on the alternator do??
is it meant to only have a single wire coming out of it?
on my ph1, its a two pin connector, but only has a white wire coming out of it, it also has what looks like a green wire that has sheered off right as the base of...
never wait around with these things!! :)

the standard catch is still there, i just added the pins because i was worries about the boot flexing!! lol
heres one or two pics from todays work!!
i stripped all the ancillaries off the engine until she was completely naked!! (filthy slut)
then i added (as you can see in the pic) two...
if you just want to learn, and not want to drive....
buy broken 172s on the cheap, break them for parts on here and on ebay,
learn clios like the back of your hand, AND make money!!
id say 70% of my knowledge about cars is from stripping them down for parts or repair!!
theres no point...
if you want more power, look into converting it!!
F7P will drop straight in and be picked up for chips!
F7R will be just as easy to fit but engine costs slightly more and harder to find!
F4R can also be picked up easily for a bit of money but custom downpipe and wiring may be needed!!
In the...
cheers dude!! i know what you mean, that bonnet was mint before i touched it! ;) luckily i havnt had a chance to really fall in love with the car yet!!
and tbh, it came with a big hole in the exhaust so there was a bit of grunt there, but i yearn for more!! and bucket seats!!
and its only a...
also note, though i personally dont mind the look of her without the grill, ive only left it out because ive got new headlights on the way and cant be bothered to put it back on purely to take it off again when the headlights get here!!

it took me a whole day to fit the bonney catches shamefully, theyre really iritatingly hard to line up nicely, theyre still not perfect because...

stancing a car with no performance base = win!
standing a performance based car = fail
thats my rule of thumb, but my guilty pleasure is......i do think it looks quite cool :o
