Hey Si,
Appreciate that. I have a new coil and plugs to go here.............if i get so far down the road to look into MAP further I will give you a shout but firmly in the world of spark and gas right now.
Bigger mechanical work (pulley replacement) is probably going to take the longest time...
Doesn't idle like a Subaru bud, only when under load on light throttle until around 2500rpm...............tried pulling injector leads in turn last night to see if it changed the idle (which is smooth) and it just obv went off a cylinder each time.
Thanks guys..........yeah.........well, I have a new coil/crank sensor and loom/plugs etc to go in as part of a big chunk of work to do so I will throw it in anyway.........will actually try that tonight to see if it changes but will look to getting the set of injectors ordered as well.
I take...
Right................I still haven't got at it yet but the misfire has evolved into full on Subaru under 2500 rpm which goes away above those revs albeit seemingly with the power down.
With the occasional bang from the exhaust.
Would we be leaning more ignition now?
Hi fella,
That is decent of you. I might take you up on that but really don't want to be tearing your car apart :)
Just checked the MAP sensor anyway.
MAP engine off - 1039.10
MAP engine running - 4-500
wtf fella?
When i started the thread, I think that the site still reflected the car i was driving in my profile, i can see that is now no-longer the case
But even from the now grainy avatar, it can bee seen that it is a ph2 172
Are you having a bad Wednesday or something Steve?
I have also been assuming (correct me if i am wrong) that there is not much else other than the crank sensor, coil failure or bad/no earth that would cause a complete loss of power when under load?
I also have to eyeball that connector under the engine bay relay box and ecu connections to be fair.
Hey @flebay thanks for that.
I think i did quote off a few values a while ago but they were with the motor running and the timing was deffo out.
Will try to pop on the tuner tonight and see what that reads for the MAP reading although the home combi boiler has just dropped its trunks at home...
Hey @Mbeau appreciate the reply.
The injectors have not been replaced (yet) and I have held off that job due to the fact that it would occasionally completely cut out. It didn't go off a cylinder if you know what I mean, it went off all 4 at once.
Unfortunately, living on this stinky little...
Oh, other thing. Anyone know who makes the MAP sensor for Renault?
The £140 asking price is making me feel ill. Especially when they can be had much cheaper but surely its possible to get a good quality aftermarket part such as VDO or Facet?
J
Hey @Bowser ............... WAY TO DEPRESS ME ON A WEDNESDAY! :D
I hear you bud........although.........there has to 100% be something causing it as it didn't do it out of the factory for sure and there are only a number of electronic components that could be involved. I get that wear and tear...
Well......who'da thunk it.
I just found the MOT 582-01 (BGS version) crank locking tool that I bought when I bought the Renault timing tools (genuine) as I thought I might need it............totally forgot.
Monday is at least a bit better now :)
J
I hear you James....had a look the other day and thought I could use a crow bar to hold the crank through the timing hole (where the crank sensor lives)
I assume you are thinking of somewhere else? I was hoping to not have to pull the starter (trying to keep the job as light as possible as not...
Thanks James...........that is one thing that is on my mind as I was expecting to use the crank locking pin but worry that it isn't up to those torque values.
Hi gang,
I have a crank pulley to replace and was wondering if anyone can give me the torque settings i need to re-tighten to?
I have a new bolt, the original was prob fine as timing was done not so long ago but for a few quid, i though just replace
Now, I only have a torque wrench in lbft...
appreciate that bud...............she threw a code today though for rear o2 so I am guessing that it was all over the show as above.
fyi......having a little "exercise" to replace some parts to make a start on the hesitation. The following bits are coming tomorrow
- new coil pack
- new plugs...
