I was having a think about this thread, and wondered what people thought about the idea of the winning photo of each month being made into a calender for 2012? So the winner of January will be January 2012 etc.. Could be sold via CS, or just one of the people who reguarly go on the photography...

How do you get the star effect from the lights?

Revels - With the blurred background effect when shooting a car for example, how do you keep the car in focus, but make the background blur? What is it that stops the car from blurring aswell?

No idea, haven't had the camera long so I'm still learning new things with it etc. I usually go on manual mode to experient, changing one thing at a time etc then setting it back to what it was to try a different setting if that makes sense? I didn't know if there were any other major...

Just a quick one. The girlfriend was playing around on the camera last night and changed a load of settings on Manual Mode. I have no idea what she changed, or how she changed them. Is there any way of "resetting" the settings so to speak, so they are back to what they were originally on...

Does it have a hole in the bottom which you can screw something into? If so, then yes, it will fit a tripod.

Thanks for the advice mate, will take all that into consideration! I like to think that I take good photo's, just not particularly "knowledgeable" with the statistical side of things if that makes sense! Will go into Jessops or something and have a play with a few different lenses I think.

BluePete Thanks for that. What would you say is better for a first lens, the zoom lens or the nifty fifty? Is the nifty fifty good for real close up shots?

Oh right ok, sorry you can tell i'm new to this! I don't fully understand the whole macro thing, just want to take some really good close up, detailed shots of things aswell and my current lens isn't the best for it tbh. haha wtf is a nifty 50?!
