OK another update, so i pulled the cam cover off again to find one of the rocker arms on that cylinders inlet valves to be completely offline and sitting on the peak of the lifter.... So, i pulled the cams out, pulled spark plugs 1, 2 and 3 out leaving JUST plug 4 in the dodgy cylinder. So this...

Just put it back together and timed it up, cranking over by hand i can still feel no compression on the same cylinder, bit gutted if im honest. Cranking it on the bolt by hand i can feel all the air leaking past the inlet valves on the compression stroke. So if it wasnt a stuck lifter i guess...

50 miles, lots of engine breaking and foot to the floor without exceeding ~4krpm, bed the rings in, change the oil and filter, job done. Give it death. I get annoyed people who think they need to bed the engine in for 5000 miles.

Nope i bought the lifters 2nd hand as i misplaced my originals. I literally dipped them in oil for 20 seconds and banged them in the head, are they all supposed to be springy? ill leave them all in a tub of diesel overnight this time i think, then compress them multiple times, should that do...

Should add 3 of the hydraulic lifters / lash adjusters were rock solid, 13 of them were squidgy. doubt that make and difference though

Was right to suspect the dodgy souding cranking. Cyl 1 = 170 psi Cyl 2 = 170 psi Cyl 3 = 170 psi. Cyl 4 = 0 psi. So low compression on 3 cydliners and none on the other. Yup 0 psi, i dun goofed somewhere. FML

No real update until Sunday when i hope to breath some sort of life into the engine. Got my coil pack bracket and FPR bracket made all looking shiny, also having some 10mm DCOE spacers made because with a flat backplate the air filter latches foul the fuel rail pipes and would chafe it. Have...

Lol at the above, ive come to the conclusion what im doing with the DP is s**t and its all for the sake of keeping the silenced decat (which i much preffered to the unsilenced version), but might just rip it out now. Need to rig up the fuel pipes although that 80% done now, just the return line...
