Ah f**k, spinning sleeves are a t**t. You need the other kind of locking nut remover. It has a metal insert that moulds to the lock pattern with a bit of persuasion, then you use an impact drive to shock it out.
Ever seen an easy out? They do a reverse version which is a socket. I'm not sure of the proper name ATM as I'm half cut, but that's what I've used before.
I really don't know how people smash them up. I drop my phone a lot, use it when fixing cars, keep it in my pocket at work (as a mechanical fitter at a powerstation, so plenty of force gets put into it) and touch wood I've not even scratched it.
So does my mate's PD130, which is running some huge ass turbo. Before the new turbo it was 240bhp and about 400lbft or something stupid, f**k knows what it's making now. Enough to strip gearboxes and smash engine mounts anyway.
I've got the D7000. Really impressed, now shoot JPEG as I don't need the adjustment RAW gave for the D40. Only gripe is it not working as mass storage, so I currently have to use the D40 as I don't have a card reader.
A couple of quick shots whilst I've been playing at home with it...
