Oil filter is on the front of the block, hard-ish to get to, and to release youre better off using one of those 3 grip racket removers.....
Sump plug is a square socket, about 8mm I think...

Mate, I had a crash where I was injured and taken to hospital after being freed from the wreckage, the car was taken to a storage location(where it was later inspected), I was also watched (and logged) whilst I took personal posessions out of the car (well, I didnt take anything - two broken...
Final....... sorry mate, but if an insurance company can get out of paying you they will...... sad but true, and if you get one of the few jobsworth inspectors out to inspect your car after a crash - youre screwed - trust me.
DECLARE EVERYTHING
Yup, tell them, some actually dont mind since it keeps all the glass together in the case of an accident and can therefore reduce any passengers personal injury claims, and it makes it harder (but by now means impossible) to break in to the car.....
Just tell them, better be safe than...
every insurer increases premiums differently, thats life Im afraid, just give them a call and ask speculatively how much it would cost if you put wheels and suspension on your car... then you know if its a viable move or whether youve gotta search for another insurer come renewal time and just...
you dont, only by the code on the front of the block...
Oh and the colour on the top of the dipstick is different, but I cant remember which colours are 1.8 and which are 2.0
Sorry mate, but you are the one who jumped red...... you might have been in a cold cell overnight if youd hit someone..... so think on..... take it like a man and move on.
Oh, and dont come here with your attitude as above...... not nice... not needed..... youre in the wrong.... end of.... k?
go down to B&Q and get some bolts to fit the nuts your have taken off from underneath, they should be 2 or 3 inches long I think... and maybe pickup some washers to spread the load too.
Mate! just read this - blimey mate, glad youre both ok!
As far as a claim goes, get the wording right for you claim and do not derivate from it, make sure that you state you both hit the entrance to the roundabout at the same time etc, as long as you can state (and prove by way of a witness)...
The Telford dealer does actually come with a very good rating, Telford_Mike has used them forever (or so it seems) and theyve given a good server to him constantly as far as I know, maybe just a bit slow in getting back to people (maybe theyre really busy in the dealership? :-S )
Do you need this doing all in one day? how much are you willing to pay as that is a hell of a lot of miles, and if you want it itll cost ya man..... lets us know if you are serious (with serious money not £50 LoL ;-) )
I would say - due to the registration date of your 172 - that you dont in fact have traction control.
The traction control system fitting to later model 172s and to 182s etc is activated everytime you start the car, and to disable it you have to push a button which is down on the right hand...
I have now unfortunately has to claim on my Liverpool Victoria insurance for a total loss of a very modified clio, and we negotiated the price from a standard vehicle replacement price to one which was a fairer representation of the modifications done, obviously if you spend £5k on mods you aint...
i know how to sort the airbag lights etc.... just not got hands to do the job, but i know EXACTLY what to do to change the seats.... just would need a pair of able hands..... Lunner? lol
WHAT? there arent any screws at the back of the steering wheel..... :-S
You release two clips at the back end of the wheel, one on either side, as you release them pull the centre unit (which includes the airbag) forward, itll just pop out, then you have to undo the airbag wiring, easy, just...
