Edde - the RON level of the fuel can affect when you can time the ignition of the fuel/air mixture, and thus change the power output of the explosion....
In my example my 172 was tuned for 98RON fuel, and you can tell the different if you go down onto ordinary unleaded fuels..... no doubt, and...
is the engine turning over? if so the starter is ok.....
is there a spark?
is there fuel? (do you hear the fuel pump prime when the key is first moved to position 2?)
The 182/172 etc have no where near the driver feedback or driver connection that the williams gives.
And after driving a 182 road a track I say that the handling (with the cup suspension) isnt up to what the williams had 10 years back....
... but each to their own.
Megane Engine (early models) was the same as in the williams... 150bhp...
Have a talk to Nick Hill at http://www.hillpower.co.ukwww.hillpower.co.uk - I think I saw one up there last week, but I dont know if its for sale or a customers engine.

Before you lads start on with the 172 vs 182 stuff you should all try driving a Williams 1 properly at least once, then youll understand the true meaning of a "drivers car" - the 172/182/192 or whatever well have next is never going to give the driver the...
Feck it, Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3s all the way, I find most people dont run enough pressure in them and so complain about them for one thing or another, but on track pressures of about 38/36 and on road of about 36/34 or 34/32 sees you right, Ive have loads on both of my cars (172 and williams 1)...
You can run harnesses with the normal front seats without I problem, I did this for a long while before I got my buckets in finally - no worries at all, just need to remove the rear seat bases as you have then got access to bolt points needed for the harnesses (oh and remove the silly rear...
Liverpool Victoria - but I seem to remember they have brought in an age limit for it now... over 25s I think... though Im too old so they couldnt care less what I do to it lol
The williams has better handling, different interior/clocks/etc, gold 15" alloys, 2L engine (more bhp/torque), wider track erm..... a williams 1 will have the individually numbered plate too..... (Mines number 270.... and for sale by the way ;) )
Are you a LOON???? do you want to risk death or serious injury for a lower car? thats just crazy talk...
The 80mm coilover kit doesnt cost £840 - thats for the custom setup fred had made, youre looking £500-600, get fred to fit them if ya like, hes a good lad when it comes to jobs like...

Changing wheels wont change the gap size, as you need to keep the same rolling circumference of the tyre.... lower more is ya only option, so Id say go coilovers, youll get to set the ride height you want instead of changing springs left right and centre, and youll get a better handling ride out...
