    Lol, my car is also usually in Hooligan mode except for when fuel funds are tight, then I play the "lets see how many miles I can get out of this tank" game, and the "lets see how fine I can cut it before filling up" game

    Surely its not down to how short the ratios are but how the ratios match the engine characteristics, ie, when you change gear, the revs fall back down to max torque.

    Viv, they definately get better with time. When I bought mine it had done just over 13500 miles and it still felt very tight. Its now done just over 23500 miles and feels much better

    The lumpy idle is normal...as if the car idles fine then you feel like the whole car just moved.... The bulbs are H1 and not H11 CAnt help with sparkplugs either

    And also remember that the supposed 172bhp claimed by renault is measured in ps. Convert ps to bhp and 172 magically becomes 166...which is spot on.

    One nice feature I did notice was that if you keep clicking the computer button after its in diagnostic mode, you can find out how much fuel is still in the tank, instead of the normal how much youve used

    Crumbs....Id hate to think how "lovely and twitchy" the RS is since the 172 is also quite "lovely and twitchy"
