The engines in the clio 16vs/1916v and williams are very strong. If well maintained, they can go for galactic mileage.
Ive just stripped a 200k williams engine and I can not believe the lack of wear...not a mark on anything, no bore wear, no cam wear, nothing. Almost worth not replacing...
Paul,
I usually quote £500 for the complete job including parts. 16 hours is a bit OTT, takes about 10 max, depending on which way you do it.

I was particularly interested in the 0-130mph in 4th for the DB7.
The Lotus will pull from 15 all the way to top speed of approx 180mph in 5th.
Impressive figures all round.

Mike,
What colours your Exige? I saw one the other day on one of the roads through Lower Early. I was in the Carlton and they flashed me. It was silver.

Dunno what it was, just got a real feeling of regret last night - I swapped a driveshaft on it and then saw it parked up waiting for my mate to collect it from my workshop and just thought that really should still be mine!
How Id love to own a Clio Williams and a Lotus Carlton together - 2 of...
Its official - I regret selling my Williams.
I did some work on it last night for the chap who now owns it, and seeing it sat there parked up, I for the first time properly regret selling it.
Even tho I know I have somthing a bit special sat in the garage, I really regret selling the...
BMWs have made some major c**k ups in the last few years - the 2.8 and 4.0 engines for a start....half them had to be replaced and when you look at how many 328s, 528s and 728s there are about, that cant have been cheap!
And VW have recently had problems with coil packs, on near enough all the...
Know what you mean Nick, running a car in after engine work is a nightmare - when I first got the Lotus I changed the timing chains and then had to run it in for 1000 miles - absolute nightmare!

10,000 miles without an oil change - little wonder its noisy specially on thin Mobil 1 Oil.
Change it for 15W50 and keep it changed every 5k at least.
