I want mine lowered but not to much as I wanna keep it usable and dont wanna spend too much doing so. Any recommendations
arhh, wish i hadn't started this thread, to think of it I wish I hadnt joined this bloody club again, I wanna do so much to the 172 after seeing how nice all your lots are. I brought the car and promised the lady I would keep this one standard and not blow anymore money.
oh well i'm sure a...
I used to have 17's and they felt fine but when I put my standard Turbine 15's on (whilst 17's where referbed) it felt so so so much better. I nearly wanted to get some 15's for good. This was back in 03 when you had to have 17's but now times have changed. I would go 15's or 16's but make sure...
am loving this. Couple of questions, what drop have you done as it looks spot on? Also are those the standard wheels or bigger as they look bigger.
Thanks
cheers guys.
I think the 172 phase one wheels let the car down. Look like they need to be an inch bigger.
Can some1 explain what "ph-quick" is all about. Been away from the game for a while and aint got a clue what its all about.
Hi people,
I have just got myself a mk1 172. It is boggo at the moment, wasn't planning on doing anything at first but now am thinking a subtle lowering and maybe mk2 172 wheels.
Can people post there pics of there mk1 172 to give me an idea of what works and what doesn't mod wise, also...
ppysjrh - You think the same as me pal, i say this to my mates all the time bit they cant see my point. Fine for them but finance aint for me as I aint into spending over the odds. people wont pay more for a car than its worth then they go and finance it and spend more for the car over time...
I remember seeing program compairing Finance people to cash people and the differences. I think it was something like the finance people will spend on average a 3rd more in there life time for the same things as cash people and that is with them being perfect paying finance people and dont...
The 106 is light, nimble and responsive and raw. You can feel everything through the steering and you know exactly where you are with the car. So so much fun. Its very easy to drive full on. The handling is absolutly awsome, I used to love the valvers handling but in my opinion it dont come...
I find people who pay cash for things tend to appreciate them more than people who get them on finance. I think its too easy to get finance where as if you save then you realise how much hard work it took it get what u have
Cash all the way. Dont do loans, finance etc. If I aint got the money then I cant afford it (Thats what my grandad taught me, and I reckon he is right)
cheers u lot, good to be back.
I was initially a little dissapointed with the 172 compaired to the gti but each time i drive it I like it more and more. Well happy, it is a lot of car for the money.
Only thing buggin me is drinks so much more petrol than my gti, oh well i am sure i can...
Its a good one. Had it 15months and other than servicing the only money I have had to spend on it was a new rad.
It wont be available till end of the month though I am afraid. Reason being I have just moved house and so sent the log book off with my new address so am waiting on that. Also it...
cheers guys, its good to be back. And yes my name is Kevin. Used to live in Saffron Walden Essex but have move a few miles away to Haverhill in Suffolk.
The 106's have been very good to me over the last 18 months. The handling is out of this world, they are just a pure great fun car...
Hi People,
A few may remember me from the early days of cliosport. I used to have a blue valver with cream leather etc shown in the pic below.
Since I sold it in Dec 03 to another clio sport member I have been away owning a Passat TDi (company car), followed by 2 106gti's. Now I have...
Sold it becuase I got a job with a company car, planned to keep it for weekends and fun but It paid a chunk towards my deposit to my house.
The interior was stunning, i got it second hand but was only 3 months old. I got it from a lad in my town who paid £1100 for the retrim and I paid £350...
Hi people,
Has any1 come across my old Valver? Some of you may remember it, some may not. I sold it on a little over a 2 yrs ago to a fellow cliosport member in Kent. He only had it shortly and it got sold on.
I would love to know where it is now and what it looks like etc...
not sure where it is now. Sold it to a guy from here called Rich in kent somewhere. He didnt have it long and sold it on.
I think in its last little while with me I found it hard to keep on top of many niggly little things that where going wrong, then when he got it I think he also had...

Something about it is a lot nice than my last one, although my last one was mint and a brilliant drive this one seems a whole lot newer car. Just need it lowered asap
I would love a clio, if I could I would have a clio anyday but the 172 is a little out of my reach at the moment.
I also absolutly love the valvers, they really are my main love after owning my old one for 2yrs but they are just that little bit 2 old now as my old one needed money thrown at it...
yeah, slightly edited, lol.
I got it 2 and a bit weeks ago but then they day after I went on hol and only got back a few days ago, so am now loving driving the new GTI again
