Sounds a bit like mine did - ive just had mine comp tested over the last few days and mine had no comp in 2 cylinders, suspect dropped valve/slipped timing, Did your car die while you was driving it - or just not start one day ??? i wish mine was just a TDC sensor :dapprove:

Already getting it looked at and to me sounds like going to have to have valves replaced and obviously head set and timing kit, Any one able to give me a ballpark figure in what i should be paying for this kind of job/work as i dont fancy having my pants pulled down, lol Ta

Guy at garage has said after compression test, There is no compression in 2 of the cylinders and very little in another, So based on whats been said i would assume its damaged some valves ?? And i'll take it that if it was due to cambelt as it was only done 12k ago the previous owner may...

Just to add there is sufficient water in the header tank and there was no rise in temp before car just stop ?

Are the 205/45/16s suitable for the standard alloys on a 172 ph2 ?? Or is it better just to sick to the 195/45/16s ?? Ta.

Exactly this - i had a wire hanging down so when ive pushed it back up ive inadvertantly knocked the brake switch/plunger thinger and its twisted off and come loose, Just needed putting back through the hole and twsiting into place :) Felt like a right d*ck when i noticed after posting on here...
