Actually a decent discussion and nice to see it hasn't turned into a slanging match for once.
I can see the point chip makes, Tiff Needell expressed similar sentiments, although he liked it, he thought it wasn't that much better than the normal Puma.
I can totally understand why gally talks a...
Interesting to hear...thats about what I get out of my 106 GTI. Seems to be one of the main complains people have with these.
If that's true, no excuse not to own one now! Joey, did you say it was cheaper than your 106 to insure?
Agree that they look slightly dated...the PH2 has aged well though as Benno said. Still a cool car.
I'd love a white Rallye personally. Let us know how you get on with the running costs compared to the 106, heard they like a drink.
Saw a grey one of these boot it away from the lights in...
Love that Joey...You have good taste in motors. Perfect way to get back on track after your bad luck with the MX5.
Fancy owning one of these myself at some point, will be interested to hear how you find it compared to the 106.
Cold hard truth.
Nice purchase, ST is a great package. Mods wise I'd suggest an exhaust, an aftermarket flexi-pipe and an induction kit of some sort (Mountune CAIS if you're feeling flush) - that'll open it up nicely and take you up to about 160bhp by most accounts.
My pugsport system has a 'dummy cat'; an empty box basically to make it look slightly less conspicuous! Not that the fuel smell doesn't give it away or anything :o

I think if you do the right stuff as you have using a good sealant then keep washing it when possible over winter (jetwashing out the arches etc) theres no need to worry too much about using it over winter. Drove my old mk5 Zs...

Love the exhaust note, sounds nice and raspy! Don't think it sounds weak at all though it's not capturing it at it's best (coming down the revs in gear and letting it do the rest ;) )!
I've got that seat cover too, very good bit...
So true...my mate had a fixation for MK4 Golfs, had two 1.8T GTI's and looked right down his nose at Saxos. He's got a VTS now which he is plowing money into!
A few shouts for 106 GTIs/VTS' and Fiesta Zetec-S' ...owned both and I can understand why!!
Definetely miss my first car...sentimental value and it was actually really tidy.
I'm unsure as to whether it's a running joke on here or not. I'm not particularly bothered either way but you seem to have taken it as an age related dig rather than the light hearted comment it was intended as!
I've been on about old posts on this forum for a while. Can yield some quite amusing stuff.
Not intentionally searching for specific users, thats a bit loserish. Just searching for particular cars for example and rumaging back through old archived stuff, you often see posts by quite well...
RussZS is your man. He lives in Willenhall and details every weekend, very good at what he does tbf and does it for a good price. I can put you in touch if you like?
If Russ is busy I'd do it cheaply for you too, done quite a few cars over summer.
