I hardly notice any difference with the AC on either. My 1.4 used to die with the AC on, and the MK2 172 felt a bit sluggish, but this one seems to be fine with it.
Not too easy to see.....but theyre there...

Its pretty close, down to a few tenths either way. mk1 is same weight as a cup + spare wheel and toolkit. Mk2 70 odd kg heavier but with a shorter gear box. Evens itself out i reckon.
epic - Had a similar problem on my Williams after I had a decat pipe fitted. I think the exhaust system passes over rear axle and if not fitted properly it rattles and buzzes on it. Extremely annoying. Id take it back to where the work was done and ask them to take a look at it. I was fed some...
Not much good on an F4R engine though
If youve still got your cup, Ill buy the head off that for £25. you bung the F7R head on it and sell it like that, everyones a winner ;)
Are you able to do it on an exchange basis? Only got the one car now and we both need it. Would be willing and able to pay £400 for the work though. I could easily come down to Bristol (as I probably mentioned before).

I suppose if anyone has enough goes at 1/4 miling, then there will come a point where they wont be able to beat there own times any more. When it comes down to it, its just accelerating in a straight line, which isnt that difficult. I think it gives a reasonable indicator of your cars...
The Cup at John Nobles a few months back, the MK2 and the MK1 172s all put out 162bhp +/- 1bhp calculated flywheel figures. Im really starting to not trust any rolling road at all. Different places give very different figures for the same car. And yes, the temperature would probably make some...
Its actually just wedged in with that heat shield. Previously I had it secured with 2 cable ties attached together and wrapped around a bit of engine bay. If your main hose is strapped in tight enough, it sort of just holds the filter in place anyway.

Edit - link to the pics...
Kind of fancy going back to motorbiking (cheap commuting). My insurance premium will have gone up a fair bit now and I dont think we can afford to insure two performance clios without me having full no claims.
I put 2 threads up about this over the last week or so - all the pics and where I got the stuff from etc if anyone else wants a go.
Rich-D - Thats GOT to be sorted out!!!
