1300 miles in approx 36 hours, running from the midlands to Durness (North north north scotland) for an annular eclipse. (172, not cup, but still the same ;) )
hehehe I just had to post this as at first the mpg was awful, ok my right foot was made of lead, and still is sometimes, but with a tweek or two to the ecu its really made a difference :) just wait until I cain it on track again, then Ill show you pants mpg lol
erm could check the dipstick.... cos they are different depending on 1.8 or 2.0..... there is a black (Or maybe blue - Benr!) splodge of paint on the top of the 1.8 and normally a white splodge on the top of the 2.0 dipstick.
Or I maybe completely wrong on this one LMAO.
Craig, thats the design of the Quaife ATB, a normal limited slip diff is a ratiod limiter, so if if you had say a 1.5:1 lsd then the wheel with no grip would spin 1.5 revolutions where as the wheel with grip would spin 1 revolution.
yes people, Im shocked, just had to calculate my mpg (cos the fuel side of my computer aint liking it since the mods) and it came out at 29mpg :o:D
BLOODY BRILLIANT
Hmmm if theyre rubbing on the arch lip itself, then spacers wouldnt help any.
What wheels have you got on (Width of wheel etc) and what offset are they? cos with a proper offset wheel you shouldnt be having problems like this at only a 40mm drop.
All I have to say on the matter is come down to Power Engineering in Uxbridge next time we do a Rolling Road day there (which should be soon) and you can get tested side by side other standard and modified 172s.
Oh right, so youve ordered the cup wheels from renault.... ok then, they should be ET37 offset then.... and that should be find for use on a dynamique.
Isnt everything we do just a game with these cars? It still bites when someone has a real downer on what you are intending to do without any real knowledge or constructive critisism.
Bloody hell Toms123, do I tell you anything you do is a waste of money? do I tell you to go get a different car and save your money cos youll still be slow compared to me?
No I dont, and really if you aint got anything constructive to say then why not say nothing at all..... Im pretty sick of...
Mate, one thing youve got to remember is that when they quote say 35bhp you wont get near to that figure, more like 20-25bhp if youre lucky, and the increase is not really that much of a kick, with anyone Id advise to look at a http://www.noswizard.com/noswizards kit, its a wet kit so it chucks...
Depends on what kit you are thinking of going for mate......(zex, NOS, wizards etc etc)
If its a wet kit, then you should start on a 25/30 bhp shot and then get the system checked over, then progress to the 50bhp jets and then get the system checked again, if you want to go upto 80/100 youll...
NickyB - lets not start this one again, there is NO legislation in place making Nitrous use on the road illegal, your only issue would be getting insurance for it - the police/customs&excise/dept.of.transport have nothing saying its illegal to use on the road.
Lee, heres a quick naff image (And before you say it Tom, I used the wrong settin on the phone I know :( )

Oh, and dogmaul, when I rang you yesterday the car actually had the spare wheel, toolkit, and fred in the car :o:D extra extra weight that wouldve slowed me down lol
LoL, hiya guys, well, Ive just unscientifically weighed one of my old seats (The calibrated scales I normally use are locked away in my mates house lol), and were lookin around 26kgs each for those.
Its stripped by another 46kgs (IIRC) including the back seats, parcel shelf, spare wheel and...
hehehehe fuel economy..... well.... I was gettin 27mpg today, and that was a mix of steady motorway driving and a few thrashes (oh and a erm......... *RUN* ;))
