The crunch noise will be your synchro on 2nd gear mate, what youre doing is racing the synchro, its not having chance to spin up to speed match before being engaged.
Who cares about a silly spoiler, the sat-nav is worthwhile matey (But the reason you cant have it is because the sweep on the cup antenna is less than on the standard 172/182 to cope with the bigger spoiler - and they dont make a gps+radio antenna that is swept like the cup one.)
No mate, just go for it, you wont lose anything, if its that bad/hard, you just put it back together - but you should be able to do it (and youve always got help from people on here :) )
Ok, this is a mk1 valver yeah? therefore youve got a return line via the regulator, so all that may have happened is air pockets may have been introduced into the fuel rail, so letting it try and fire, then turning fully off and then letting it pressure up again a few times should do the trick.
Hmmm I think my deal was around £350 ish? had a few remaps to get the fueling/timing etc spot on, Contact Dave and London Superchips (Uxbridge) - thats where I got mine done at and all the guys down there are a great laugh - and you get to see all the cars gettin run up and tuned at Power...
Mine was chipped for a long while, and I was really happy with it, I had an aftermarket exhaust and a pipercross viper which was plumbed in to get a lovely nice shot of cold air from the bottom grill, and custom superchips map did it proud, it got to about 184bhp on the rollers and was noticably...
Ok, youve got two options, either weight loss or and increase in power output....
Weight loss, on a 172 you can lose about 40kgs by taking out the back seats, spare wheel and toolkit, and maybe lose another 25-30 or so by swaping the front seats for buckets.....
Power gains...
Jas, its soooo worth it mate, the resolution of the screen is really good, and if you get a disc with TMC codes on it youll have live road traffic updates showing on the map with detailed info in the info screen :)
And adding dvd playback to it is done by adding the TV tuner unit and then...
I actually really like Kiddy Renault - their the only Minute Garage around here and damn they actually do stuff and talk to you and..... well.... their guys aint muppets - stood there watch their every move with my cars and they do the job right from my humble experience with them.
Well, they are fantastic cars, the box is damn good - so damn good its still on my shopping list, but you cant do cluthless downshift like Seedy says...... and yes they are skitish on the edge - I know Ive spun a few, but then youve gotta find the limits somehow :)
Id love to see someone put...
Hot hatches are getting more powerful, but also more heavy too.... the Williams can hold its own against cars 10 YEARS younger than itself - I know - Ive got the video to prove it - eh Yoz? ;)
Is it? what was it built for then? what race series did they need to build a road going version for, and why didnt they limit production to the minimum needed to enter that series?
