My speedo isnt working.
if I do the diagnostic thing (hold down trip computer and turn on ignition) the speedo moves around just fine. but when driving it doesnt budge.
What could have happened?
Can I fix it myself or do I have to take it to Renault for them to sort out
Lol, my car is also usually in Hooligan mode except for when fuel funds are tight, then I play the "lets see how many miles I can get out of this tank" game, and the "lets see how fine I can cut it before filling up" game
Surely its not down to how short the ratios are but how the ratios match the engine characteristics, ie, when you change gear, the revs fall back down to max torque.
Viv, they definately get better with time.
When I bought mine it had done just over 13500 miles and it still felt very tight.
Its now done just over 23500 miles and feels much better
Im in love with my Clio
x------------------------x
The machine of a dream
Such a clean machine
With the pistons a pumpin
And the alloys all gleam
When Im holding your wheel
All I hear is your gear
With my hand on your grease gun
Oh its like a disease son
Im in love with my Clio
Gotta feel...
ABS will stop the wheels locking up, but the rear brakes will still be braking harder than normal.
Also remember that the brake bias valve is there so when the rear of the car is loaded, it adds breaking power to the rear to help stop you better. By lowering the car, the car thinks the rear is...
Basically what happens is that you lower your car, and because the car is sitting lower the rear brakes think there is more weight so the brakes are applied harder to the rear which can cause them to lock up...pretty much the same as if you applied the handbrake while travelling at speed...any...
When my bulb blew in my old clio I took it out, took it to Renault and said "Give me one of these"
The guy went away and brought one back, but he was confused because the blown one had a blue tint and the new one was clear....the blue tint was because it blew
The lumpy idle is normal...as if the car idles fine then you feel like the whole car just moved....
The bulbs are H1 and not H11
CAnt help with sparkplugs either
One nice feature I did notice was that if you keep clicking the computer button after its in diagnostic mode, you can find out how much fuel is still in the tank, instead of the normal how much youve used
