Yeah, I’m hoping the old pins will just tap out easy enough. They’ve only been on the car for 5 months and less than 500 miles, so fingers crossed haha.
I was having a bit of an issue with the central locking recently. The car would lock on the button, but wouldn’t unlock unless you put the key...
Didn’t they do an AMG version of this and it only sold something like 150 units?!
I love these though. A lot of car for the money and an absolute eyesore
I really like that. I’ve not seen lambo doors for years! Takes me back to buying Max Power as a teen.
There’s something great about this sort of modifying. It’s not something I’d own but the amount of graft that goes Into a build like this is pretty amazing. Looking forward to future updates.
That’s a cracking idea. I might have to look into doing that. There’s a local guy near me that does paint protection film.
It does seem to be a bit of a common place for rust to start when they two panels rub.
A few quick after pics when the rain decided to stop for 5 minutes.
No more stone chipped rear quarters and that rust bubble where the arch met the bumper has now been sorted.
Both sides have been resprayed along with the side skirts too.
Fuel filler area sorted. There was a massive hole...
Managed to pick this up today after getting g an email from Kevin to let me know it was ready.
It was possibly the worst day to pick it up as we had snow last night + torrential rain this morning, but never mind haha.
Im genuinely blown away with the finished product. The guys really really...
Genuinely the worst design going. Trying to source (rear) genuine sensors is a ticket to having your pants pulled down. Only Ktec had them in stock when I was after a pair a few months ago. Roughly £90 each IIRC.
Good work on this, it lookS far cleaner!
On this pic, the fixing for the ecu brace looks like a small torx bolt that goes through the rear. Mine has a big (M6?) bolt through the front and it doesn’t sit well. Is this is how they came from the factory? If so then it explains why mine looks like...
Check MrCubes thread out and it’s half way down the first post - https://cliosport.net/threads/water-leaking-into-footwells-how-to-renew-inner-door-seal.829946/
I’m not sure that’ll be your issue though if you’ve got rear passenger water issues. It seems to be the front drivers footwell that is...
A brief update on the progress.
Kevin from Proteck gave me a shout and all welding etc has been completed. It’s currently ready for paint and raptor sealing. See pics below. Once it’s out of the body shop, I’ll have a few more to post.
It’s fair to say they’ve done a decent amount of work on...
How is everyone else cleaning under there car in the winter?
I usually get it up on axle stands, use the hose and APC with a load of brushes but it’s Baltic outside and rolling around on the floor soaked soon gets tiresome haha.
I’ve seen these mentioned a few times and would love to know if...
Does anyone have a recommendation on where to get a turbo rebuilt/refurbed in the UK? Plenty of places seem to be decent but I’ve read the horror stories with badly refurbed units and cheap Chinese internals…
Looking forward to seeing this budget turbo build when you get all the bits sorted. I feel for you on the rust too. Mine has just gone to the body shop and there are a few bits of rot to sort. Bloody Scottish winters haha
I also love the 2118’s. Such a good looking wheel on the Clio. Dare I...
Also, if anyone has a spare one of the center console cup holder bit with the tabs intact for the ashtray/bin, let me know. Mine doesn’t sit secure and rattles like mad as it’s missing the tabs.
I dropped the car at Protek on the 27th Nov. The day after Storm Arwen destroyed half of the country. Took me around 2 hours to make the 45 mile drive with some dodgy moments. There were some seriously big trees blocking the local roads. Not ideal in a lowered car haha.
Got a call from...
That’s unreal. No way I’d be happy paying £400 + to referb a set of wheels. There must be someone local on FB/Instagram who can do a decent job cheaper?!
I used Pentland Powder Coating earlier this year for a couple of bits and couldn’t fault them. Never had my wheels done by them though, but I’d use them again.
Cheers folks. I can’t find moisture anywhere so I’ll get the AC gassed, double check the pollen filter and get one of those silica bag things.
It’s only at night tbh when the temp drops. Never seems to steam up when driving.
