How good are those electric pressure washers for cleaning wheels? Do they do the full job, or would I still need to use a brush to get the brake dust off?
Driving past a local school last night - the Origin B2 was going crazy (its a DS2 site). Wondered why as I always go slowly along there - looked down at the B2 unit - 280mph! Accelerated a bit, went up to 290mph!
Cleared once Id passed the camera site - went back to 29mph.
Could some kind soul tell me the width of a V6 Mk2 between the front arches please? I need to work out whether itll fit in the space that the 172s nose currently occupies. The rest of the car wont be a problem.
Is the V6 a practical proposition when it comes to weekends away, shopping etc? How much luggage / shopping can you really squeeze in, assuming you also have a passenger?
My arch liners need some additional fixings to keep them in place. I was thinking of popping a couple of self-tapping screws through them to hold them to the bodywork. Whats behind the liners? Is it steel or plastic?
OK, my cars in a local garage (not Renault dealer), for the following jobs:
Fit 2 front tyres (I supplied the tyres)
Supply & fit rear pads
Oil & filter change (Castrol RS)
Supply & fit rear wheel bearing
Whats it going to cost then?
Bought some nice Yokohama A048R tyres for my last trackday, at great expense to the management I might add. Fronts were totally knackered after half a day, but rears are as new. Ive been told that swapping them round is a bad idea. But why?
OK. Following the feedback I got in the previous http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=13&TopicID=85491Gay or Hardcore thread, I set to work on my trackday wheels over the weekend. Armed with a can of paint, some wet & dry paper, 100 metres of masking tape and a couple of...
Anyone tried any of these - thinking about the barely legal slicks like Yokohama A048-R, for trackdays?

Spent a very pleasant morning at Hillpower drinking coffee and chatting to Nick and his Dad. Had the Rsport ECU fitted, along with the silicone inlet hose kit.
Startling improvement in the car - much more responsive in every gear, and the rev limiter has been increased. Car is also louder -...
Ive acquired some 15" rims and some slicks for trackdays, so I thought Id try the wheels out for size. They fit ok, but on 15"s the car is soooo low theres no way I could get the trolley jack under the sill!
What can I do??
Had a letter from my dealer about this - free service where they sort you out if you have a shunt. I guess its a way of getting more business for their Renault approved bodyshops.
Has anyone used it?
... in fact, not since absolutely ages ago when my washer bottle split. Before that, nothing had gone wrong at all!
just thought Id let you all know.
Owners with similar experiences please chip in and well write to Renault and congratulate them.
Makes a boring post though doesnt it.
ok Ive done a deal with some mug (hi honey!!) and Ive got my hands on a set of Megane 15" wheels for trackdays, which will hopefully be fitted with those lovely slicks that yoz buys for 50p from the Clio Cup racing teams.
Id like to paint them white. Any tips on the best way to do this?
finally got this working after some assistance from Atomic-UK - can anyone tell me the model / vehicle type etc that I need to enter for a 2002 Clio 172 Mk2 please?
Thanks.
.... even though their web site says they have. Ordered at the weekend and got an email today saying theyre sorry they cant fill my order.
I can report however that <A target=_blank href= "http://forum.cliosport.net/pm_new_message_form.asp?name=y0z2ay0z2a...
Had a flyer from my dealer trying to sell me MOT warranty - you pay £79 and they guarantee to cover repairs if it fails. Theres a list of stuff thats covered, but no way to tell whether its comprehensive or not. Anyone got a definitive list of things that your car can fail an MOT on please?
