This is supposed to be released today for Windows users isn't it?
Sounds very promising from what I've read http://www.google.com/googlebooks/chrome/
I wonder why the official site has been taken down though.
To cut a long story short I won't be paying an insurance premium for the next few years at least, although I will still be insured. As far as I know NCB expires after 12 months if not used?
Do insurance companies offer any way to prevent this from happening?
Mrs is trying to get her money back on her faulty CnM minibook from Novatech and I've suggested she get an Eee Pc instead as you seem to get a lot more for your money.
Has anyone got one?
The one that I think would be good for her is the Eee PC 701 green (UK version) 512Mb, 4 GB. With Linux...
Anyone got a CnM minibook?
My better half ordered one which arrived today and so far seems to be working fine with one exception, abi word is defaulting to chinese. If I change the default language in abi word it doesn't save it when you close down. I can't see anywhere in the very basic linux...
You know how they were running a beta interface but you could opt out and use the old one? Is the beta now no longer beta or are they playing silly buggers with me? I find it really annoying how you have to jump through hoops to list by buy it now.
Edit: Found it, at the bottom in small writing...

That doesn't surprise me at all. I have to say that Vista for me at least has been the best OS MS has made and I'm not an MS fan buy, I used Linux exclusively for 2 years.
Currently using IE7 because Firefox has been giving me compatibility trouble and came across this program http://www.ie7pro.com/ amongst other things it adds spellcheck and adblocking to IE7. Worth a look if your an IE7 user.
Have to say not having used IE for years it has improved a lot...
Bought one this morning, fully updated. Go to navigate to, enter postcode, choose correct road from drop down list. Takes me to a screen with a bit of a map and a black bar along the bottom. Cannot interact with this screen, assume it's going to calculate the route but it doesn't instead the...
Finally sacked the Mrs from her sat nav job and bought a TomTom One v3 today.
It's currently connected to my pc, I assume as the charge light is on that it's charging and again I assume when the light goes out it's finished?
There's some crap about tapping the screen 3 times to charge it...
Samsung Digimax S700 problem
I know someone with a Samsung Digimax S700 and it's suddenly developed a problem in that when you press the button to take a picture nothing happens.
They've swapped the batteries, taken the memory card out and reset to factory settings. They say the button seems...
Currently have a 22" widescreen Belinea at 1680x1050, used to have it running in dual screen alongside a 17" IIyama Prolite(1280x1024) but my new gfx card is having none of it.
I'm looking at a Dell TrueColour E248WFP 24" (1920x1200).
Is the step up in size worth it/noticeable? It's purely for...
Many, many years ago I paid for a domain with Heart Internet and then decided not to use it.
This morning I see this e-mail:
Since when do you get sent to debt collection for not paying for a domain renewal? Last time I checked it's the customers choice to renew or not and if you don't then...
I'm running Home Premium 64bit on the rig at the bottom.
The problem I am having is that sometimes after the green progress bar vanishes that Vista stops booting. My NUM Lock key does not light and my monitor goes to sleep. The hard drive access light flashes for a bit then nothing happens.
It...
Posted this on OC but not got anywhere, hoping someone here knows.
I've used dual screens for a while now under Linux and XP. Both monitors have VGA connectors so I used to use DVI to VGA adapters. When my new graphics card arrived ( Palit 8800GT) it came with one DVI and one HDMI. I'm also...
Went wireless with moving house and not wanting to run telephone cable all over the house. It's been f**king me off all day with choppy access and then decided to refuse to respond to my wireless card and then a few mins later locked the Mrs's pc out as well. I've sworn a hell of a lot, thrown...
Received my Palit 8800GT today. It's got 1x DVI and 1x HDMI. I need a HDMI -> DVI adapter so I can run 2 TFT's off it. Overclockers tell me you can get an adapter for a few quid but they didn't have any in and I'm having trouble finding one.
Can anyone give me a link?
Need something that works both with XP 32bit and Vista 64bit.
CDBurnerXP has crashed windows 3 times today and I've had enough. Ideally I want something free or at least cheap. Any suggestions?
Possibly a stupid decision but we'll see... I've ordered Vista Home Premium 64bit along with 4GB memory (2x 2GB).
To keep the Mrs sweet I've ordered her a cheap Athlon X2 Dual Core 3600+ (£24 would you believe?) which she can have with the 2x 1GB I'll take out of my machine, my old X2 rated...
We've got a pair of Philips SE6352 DECT phones but would like to add an additional handset. I've looked high and low but cannot find one. Am I able to add a different model / brand and if so how?
To cut a long story short my mum's new pc doesn't have a parallel port so my dad bought this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124657
Printer is a HP PSC 500 All in One.
Windows XP has detected the printer and installed the driver and it's set up on LPT3.
The problem is that the printer prints...
Can anyone suggest a home learning package for a semi (bordering on not at all) experienced Windows XP user. Ideally one for Office 2007 as well.
My mothers extreme lack of computer literacy is hindering her work as most of her job is now computer based.
She's used a computer for years now...
Was just looking at my website stats and saw 4 hits from someone using Windows 3.xx lol
Also had 16 hits from someone using IE 3.2, 13 hits from Firefox 1.0 and 18 hits from Netscape 2.02
I know this would probably be easier just calling them but the last time I did I was in a queue for a good 20mins so I'm trying to do it via email.
All I wanted to know was a fixed price for just a dish and wiring at the house we're moving to. We've been with them a year so have our own box...
Trying to decide whether to continue with Sky when we move or go with BT vision.
Has anyone got BT vision? How reliable is the service and box, what do you think of it overall?
Is it possible to get any movie channels?
Is this service via a roof aerial or broadband line?
We...
The place we're moving to is able to get Sky Broadband Max (up tp 16MB) and for £10 a month is definitely the cheapest option available to me.
I have my own router, so wouldn't use anything they provide.
Going on service alone, is it actually any good?
Just noticed on the bottom of their emails that it now says:
"Pipex Communications UK Limited, a Tiscali UK company, 20 Broadwick Street, London W1F 8HT"
When did Tiscali buy them?
My brother has got one along with a few other bits, he doesn't know what he's doing so I'll be upgrading his pc for him. He thinks that the card doesn't need any additional power (he hasn't currently got a 4 pin power connector).
Does anyone have one of these cards and if so, does it need...
