Anyway... I know bugger all about phones so can I have opinions on what to get?

Having just moved house we do not currently have a phone provider.
I understand that BT locks you in a 3 month minimum contract, does this mean that if we wanted to take up the offer from pipex talk ( http://www.solo.pipex.net/pipextalk/ ) that we could not do so for 3 months?
I used to use utorrent. In that you could have unlimited downloads but limit uploads right down to 1kb/s
In Azureus I can't seem to do this. I have managed to get unlimited download speed and maximum upload at 7.5kb/s
Does anyone know if it's possible to limit uploads further whilst keeping...
Anyone know what i've done?

Can't find it anywhere though.
Anyone know if it actually exists?
Think i'll just keep adding to this thread with my problems ;)
Few things I'm stuck on at the moment:
1. Getting my MX700 mouse buttons to be recognised. Linux currently thinks it's a 5 button when it's a 10. I don't appear to have evdev loaded as it freaks out and dumps me to a prompt when i...
What's this like?
As far as I understand linux doesn't support direct x so games have to use open gl and this can cause a decrease in performance.(?)
Does anyone play demanding games e.g. FEAR on a linux distribution and if so do you have any problems?
Still looking for a BB Provider and cheaper call package than BT.
Force9 seem pretty good with their premier BB coming in at £21.99 per month (2mb + 30:1 contention)
They also offer VOIP telephone service. I understand I can use a VOIP phone or get an adapter to use a conventional phone.
My...
We're moving in Januray and NTL (our current tv, phone and internet provider) have messed up our plans (home move tool said new house was in a cable area but it's not).
So... we need a new broadband provider. A number of checks say that we can only get 2mb so what ISP would people suggest I...
Anyone got one?
I'm a bit confused reading the spec.
My current SB Live! has 3 inputs for my surround sound (front/rear/centre+sub - i have 3 jacks from my SS system)
The audigy range only has one output for all of them.... how would I connect my surround sound up to that?
You know how the game checks with the Cd to authenticate it before playing?
The last 2 games I bought are causing me problems.
Games:
DOW Winter Assault
FEAR
They keep failing to athenticate and can take anwhere up to 6 tries at authenticating.
I have no problems with my DVD drive, it...
This past week or 2 my pc has been powering down when idle.
It doesn't turn off as the power light remains on - kind of like hibernate, only this feature is turned off. Power settings are set to always on.
Any ideas?
