The running-in bit is important. IT heat-cycles the rubber, leading to better grip/life, and it scrubs off the release agent that is left from the moulding process.
I dont think Ill be wearing out the Contis in a hurry (car is 6 months old with 3.5K on the clock), but its useful info.
I have a 95M 1.4RT (older shape, but with power steering, airbag etc.). Its up to 106K miles now and still going strong (famous last words).
Problems? The roof lining and sunroof rattle horribly. I think the sunroof rattle is something to do with the retractable blinds, but I think the entire...

Wongy - are you running the same make & model tyre on both sets of rims?
The theory about greater contact patch = more grip isnt quite correct (sorry, going to Slarty mode). Wider tyres = more contact patch = the ability to make the tyre from a softer compund without excessive wear. If you...

No.
IMO if you like 2 stroke bikes then youll get on with the CTR. My experience was that the car felt heavy, had to revved hard to go anywhere fast, and was just plain tiring to drive.
I was unimpressed with the interior. I know it is supposed to be minimalist, but Im sure there are ways of...

_KDF - explain the set your stereo to speed 5 to me. Is thins something I dont know about?
The_Gza - my passenger seat rattled too. The dealer replaced the runners and its fine now (so far)
JonC - ave a look at my reply to the Lift Off Oversteer post.
Youll probably get the same symptoms in a FWD or RWD car if you lift off suddenly. Applying throttle on a FWD car, along with a gentle steering input, should help. Obviously the earlier you catch it, the less steering you need and...
If the back end of a FWD car starts to break away:
1. Point the front wheels in the direction you want to go
2. Hit the throttle (gently)
Point 2 is the most important. If you just try to steer into it, most FWD cars will do their best to kill you. The reason the back end starts to come...

This is a question about my runabout 95M 1.4RT.
The wheels go out of balance every couple of months or so (tracking usually needs sorting too). Havent a clue why, hasnt been kerbed, run through potholes, the weights are still there. Any ideas?
Ive been putting off a programming job all day. I suppose I ought to start it rather than scoot around htis board (though I dare say Ill look in every now and again)

Symptons sound like a cambelt. Did you turn it over on the start afterwards, and did it spin v.quickly?
If it IS the cambelt theres no way you could snap it.
