Symptons sound like a cambelt. Did you turn it over on the start afterwards, and did it spin v.quickly?
If it IS the cambelt theres no way you could snap it.
Oh, and I didnt need a dealer stamp. I photocopied the cover of the service book, which had a sticker with the vehicles VIN number on it.
Give Renault 6 weeks or so to confirm that the 3 year warranty is in force. You wont get the breakdown cover which comes with a UK car though.

Jeff - you brake with most of your foot, and blip the throttle with the outside of your foot by rolling it to the right (or blip it with your heel, depending on how supple you are).

Things may have changed, but I always thought the difference between front driving lamps and fog lamps was the shape of the beam, not the power of the bulb.
Fog lamps have a wide, flat beam, designed to light up the road and the verge without bouncing back into your eyes as per main beam...

Thats not how it was in August 02.
Mine is a Dutch import, bought from a car supermarket. It came with a 2 year warranty.
I was told by my local Renault dealer that I should send the sales invoice, the registration document and a copy of the dealer stamp from the service booklet. My service...

Sorry, cant compete. I DIDNT drive a Jaguar D-Type on 2nd Nov. Hissing rain + slippery track + 330bhp + pram wheels + armco = a repair bill larger than the value of my house.
The guy was insistent I drove it, but I insisted that I would sometime in future - in the dry.
Was that a bad move?
i like the way Tiff dismissed the Cup on the grounds of not having ABS, then proceeded to thrash the other cars round a racetrack. I can count the number of race cars with ABS on the fingers of one foot.
My impression of the CTR wasnt chuckable either.

Well, I test drove a CTR and (prepare to be shot down in flames) Im glad I have a 172.
I think Honda have done a good job of diguising the Civics MPV-like styling, but things went a little downhill from there.
OK, its stripped out inside, but dont you think theyd have put some thought into...

My opinion:
Contis are fine. Cant see why some people say they have no grip. have run them in the wet and in the dry, on the road and on the track and have no complaints.
I agree with ChavyBoy and BenR - there might be a confusion of terminology going on here. Torque steer is the tendancy...
