I heard her coming up behind me fast (I was walking) towards the red lights, braking fairly hard.
Pleased to see a 182 when I turned my head.
More pleased to see a bird!
A cv boot kit basically comprises the rubber boot and two clips to hold it in place. Also they pack the cv boot with grease.
Wouldn't expect much mark up really. I'd expect £20-40 depending where you go. Phone a few places up. You could probably double the cost at Renault though.
Private reg T1* G**,
spotted yesterday, driving fairly keen up from the Tyne Swing bridge to the lights next to the rail arches before turning right towards Gateshead town hall.
Anyone?
Faults I had with mine are many but probably due to age rather than because of the car itself.
Over heating due to old raditor.
Mis firing.
Head gasket failure.
Starter motor
alternator
interior fan inoperable
rear drums seizing
leaking sunroof
As for power, I left mine standard...
Here's mine
Mine looks exactly like the one on the ktec page here...

The top one ie the standard mk2 172 one not the bottom one - the sports cat.
Cheers for the pic mate. Didn't realise they look like this. Wasn't aware mine split into two sections like that.
Edit. Just been outside and looked at mine.
Mine doesn't look like that. It has a central box (possibly hiding the twin pipe section) but I'm not sure it'll fit. I know people...
^ ^ Not be long before it's cracked.
I personally like TomTom on my N80 but Nokia satnav on the N95 looks good.
Take a look at it by searching for N95 on youtube.
As Mark says. Take the pads out and copper grease the non friction side of the pads.
Problem solved.
You may want to wire brush and generally clean the calipers too.
I had my lass insured on my 172 and in her first drive two days later she went into the back of someone.
At a r/b she thought the other car had pulled away so moved on herself. Smack!
V minor damage to mine but cracked other persons bumoer so we had to go through insurance. Fortunately as...
Yeah it sounds slightly different from when I had the 4k rattle from the centre section I must admit.
It sounds like it's coming from just below the gear stick.
I'd never buy a Renault Cat, it'd have to be a scrappy jobby or a performance sports cat. £350+ is daylight robbery.
If...
I had my centre section replaced under warranty last June when the car was 31 months old. Typical 4k rattle noise, went away when replaced. The car is a 53 reg Clio 172.
Thing is the noise has returned only now it does it mainly at 4k but slightly on acceleration from 2k but gets much louder...
Gonna have to do this myself, looks mega cool. Spotted them on ebay and think I might give it a go. Do you need a really fine tip soldering iron?
I'm not bad at soldering but I'm just worried I'll mess it up.
It's a toggle switch up and down. Top when sets the Cruise control on, green light...
Press Auto to swtich it on.
Then press AC to turn the aircon on/off.
Press red to get higher temp. Blue to get lower temp.
Fans control speed.
The top button to the right sends all the air to the window for demisting and also switches aircon on at same time.
The bottom button on...
Fair enough.
In all honesty, not sure what I'd do in the heat of a moment.
Sitting here typing, in theory, I know what the best thing to do is. Stay inside.
A car can be replaced.
I can't. Well, I tell my lass that anyway.
Hmm pathetic? Well first up, Taylor is a lass.
Besides which I don't have a bat. I've heard too many stories where people have been stabbed over their car. A piece of metal.
Just offering her advice, don't be a pillock.
Agreed a Disklok steering wheel lock is well worth the money.
The amount of noise and time it takes to get one off is worth it.
I have one. Thatcham approved.
Always put it on though, never leave it on back seat. Thieves will actually pinch it and in their own time and comfort...
