I may get one for my Girlfiend later next year, I miss the handling of the 172 on B roads, hopefully it will be screwed together better, but I doubt it.
Not sure they are quite that quick but I have loads of figures that show they are around that. This is down to the 236lb of torque and also why not many cars manage to pull away from me if I feel like being a little heavy with the right foot:D
My Golf 150PD is still faster with 30-70 as being 4.6s in 3rd and 5.4 in 4th gear. ;)
The 1.8T Golf is faster on that site than the VR6 which seems a little off especially when they have the 1.8Ts 0-60 being 6.6s which is at least 1 second faster than it is in reality.
That site seems to be...
Got to agree with you the Golf does not handle anywhere near as good as my 172 used too, however straight line speed there is hardly anything in it. GTi is faster than all the petrol Gtis and very close to the 4motion on pace, book figures of 8.5s are well off.
For £13k there isnt much...
Druddle I know how you feel you end up realising that quality and friendliness is an important aspect of a car/dealer. I would vote for the Leon Cupra R
Mine was perfect for 9 months no rattles and no problems, it was increadibly fun and with all the toys an excellent bargin. Then the bloody thing turned and tried to kill me by deploying an airbag whilst I was over taking a truck causng the engine to switch off and me to swerve in front of the...
They are georgous and definately my next car, my neighbour had one for a few weeks on test and got to try it against my 172, mid range pull was much better than the Clio and I am sure it would have have easily pulled away after 50 (we wernt looking to race), they even handle very well. They are...
Wasnt there a thread were it was discussed that Belgium 172s were underpowered compared to other 172s from other countries? (though what is underpowered in Renaults world)
Warranty should apply but you may only get 1-2 years depending on when it was first registered.
Yep one of mine blew off made for a great water pistol for a while, I pulled the fuse for them both and got a new ball fitted under warranty, problem solved.
Just ring renualt UK and ask for Barry, he is quite helpfull if you can get hold of him, but he is busy as there are lots of problems with Clios.
I had the passenger airbag go off on me for no reason while doing 70 on a dual carrageway overtaking a truck, it almost killed me as I lost power...
bambam - i agree the book figure for mine is 8.6s 0-60 however, every review and my own timings have it around 7.5s or less to 60 and circa 18.5s to 100 but i feel a 1.6 clio should easily out accelerate a zetec s.
i am not laughing , but then i have never done 130mph. It must be terrible to have your license taken away. Good luck in the future, at least there was no prison sentence.
8.5s to 60 is not likely book figures are circa 10s and 130mph would likley blow his engine if he somehow managed it as the book figures for that are circa 113mph.
They are OK cars but not that fast - 102bhp and 107lb of torque.
CTR are ugly and not very good, (other than their engin) and seem slow compared to similear cars. Get the Leon Cupra R, excellent build quality and very nice looking.
I had airbags go off in my old 172 while doing 70mph( it was 9months old), could have killed me so got a better car.
6K was a small free check-up that Renualt did for a while, it still needed its full service at 12k, some dealers are still confused and think it is a 18k mile service interval for a 172, which it isnt. If it is stamped as a full service you should be fine.
Unsure of your rights but wouldnt...
