Hondas are very good cars across the entire range, CRV is also very good as 4x4 go. must seem strange sitting so high up.

Black is the best colour my mk2 172 was black and everyone I knew loved it. A truely excellent car, and I really miss mine.

Good luck with your car tomorrow, look closely at the paint especially around the wheel arches, move seats forward and back to see if airbag light comes on, but most small problems you may encounter can be dealt with under warranty. Have fun.

Camden Northampton are crap they had my 172 for 4 weeks for some simple work and set off an airbag forgot to valet it and repair the warranty stuff that it had gone in for then tried to charge me £3500 for the work fix airbag and put washer ball back in on headlight, they are under investigation...

Talk to Barry Williams he is incharge of Customer Relations at Renault UK, he managed to sort my problems out plus got £200 of Renualt vouchers to spend.

This is why I decided not to get a clio as a company car but went for the Golf. Only went to my dealer once and that was more than enough, and thus sold the car.

Company car, could have had any car under the agreement but decided I wanted better build quality and better fuel economy plus golf is meant to do 0-60 in just over 7 seconds, best of both worlds. ;) Really miss the Clio though.

Bigmoose - this forum will need former 172 owners like us to stick around so that we can remove some of their delusions and keep them grounded. Besides Cupra R is much better than a 172 anyway.;)

Never had any problems using fully synth seems a lot better than other types my prefered brand is Silkolene Pro 5w 40 for a 172.

Silkolene Pro is brilliant I used it in my old 172 and it took no time at all to warm up in the mornings
