Ive got a DV II mini camcorder, bought off firebox for around £100. Its great for in car stuff, tho obviously not as good as a full size cam. Does the job tho if you only use it now and again, however its pretty useless if you try to use it at night.

I dont think LV will insure any under 21s on a turbod car anymore, could be wrong tho.
Valver engine is more modern than the GT for what its worth, and looks better IMO!! Extra torque from the new engine might see to the RT gearbox tho, probably best sticking with the valver one for better...
I have that vid aswell. The sound of the tyres spinning away is ear piercing stuff.! Ace!!:D
check out http://www.drivetoish.co.ukwww.drivetoish.co.uk if anyone wants to look at the vid. plus there are loads of others on there.
Derv, you mean the star shaped screws on the outside of the car? I used a small screwdriver bit (like you get for an electric screwdriver) and then used a pair of pliers to turn it. Quite fiddly and time consuming to do but its the only way I could see of doing it. Failing that, a pair of pliers...
ak16v, does it look like a small hard plastic thing stuck on top of the gear stick? If so you need to take a hacksaw to it and then the new one will go on.

Well done on passing your test. No point buying a 5 door if you really want a 3, there are quite a few around so you can afford to be picky. Valver wings might affect your insurance but not by a great deal. And yes, insurance when you 17 is fookin robbery, just make sure you stay safe and dont...
If you want to run decent speaker wire to the doors you need to remove the connector on the end of the rubber hose that runs from the car body to the door. Once youve done that you can drill a couple of holes in it, do the same on the plug that goes inside the car and then feed the wires...
VivJ, I think a lot of people buy their car with little intention of modifying it. But like you say, you start off buying something relatively cheap, then as soon as you do that, you start to find other things on the car that could be improved, next thing you know youve spent well into 4...
The main service and repair manual for the mk1 clio tells you all about how to take all the interior out. The Max Power one is OK, but Id start ith the main Haynes manual first and if the info you want is not in there, go for the MP one.

It was a great day yesterday. Nice sunny weather and fantastic racing. The Touring Cars were brilliant and sounded ace. The Clio Cup racing was a real take no prisoners affair, half the cars seemed to have bodywork damage of some kind by the end of the race!
Cheers Cliosport!

Very informative book. Goes into detail without getting too bogged down, although he insists on measuring everything in fractions of inches which I can never get my head around! Use mm man!

Hmmm, I havent even checked this thread before but heres my 2p worth.
Ive loved the whole concept of the V6 since the second I heard about it. Ive never driven one and Ive only seen a few on the road. Maybe the old ones are crap to drive, maybe the new one is brilliant, I dont know. What I do...
Cheers Chris_H, in hindsight Im not even sure why I suggested raising the CR, Must have been getting my increases and decreases mixed up!!
Rick
What is the CR on a standard RT? I was under the impression that the Compression Ration was normally increased on cars that were being converted to use a turbo??
