Its a VERY common problem on mk1 clios. Your lucky it was only a dirty connection. On mine it had shorted out and melted a load of the plastic around the connector! Rick

yes its a mk1. Depending on whether its an early or late N plate, its either a phase 2 or 3 model.

My RT only has 15s on and maxes out at just over 100! TBH it takes so long to get to that speed, I rarely bother.

No, the mk1 valver was a 1.8 16v, the Rsi model at the time was a 1.8 8v. Only once the new shape Clio was launched in 98, with the bug eyed headlamps, did the RSi get a 1.6 16v engine.

The mk1 (as in 91-98) 1.8 RSi is an 8valve. The mk2 RSi is a 1.6 16v. :)

ok mate, cheers. Id prefer a 16v, but RXEs seem to be easier to find, Id guessed they were 8v cos theyre a bit cheaper than the 16v equivalent.

Just ring them up and say that you wish to make some amendments to your policy. Tell them what you want to declare and away you go. If they start getting funny about you driving without insurance, you can just say that the car is in the workshop getting the colour coding finished or whatever...

What are elephant like with modifications? In my experience, the places who are the cheapest are usually the worst when it comes to declaring mods.

I reckon you should colour code them. On some colours it looks pretty smart with them left black, but not on grey IMO.

I agree, ure gonna get a much better overall sound with this kind of setup rather than messing around trying to shoehorn 8" subs into the doors.

Sounds like your RCAs are picking up interference from a power cable somewhere. Best bet is to strip out the interior and run the cables under the carpet rather than down the sides if you want to get rid of all interference in the signal.
