The only time a stranger has asked me about my car was some old dude in at National Tyres asking me if it was a diesel! lol
I occasionally see people coping a glance at my car. I think its more the colour that attracts them than the car itself tho. The metallic red really pops in the sunlight.
First of all I wouldnt bo too worried about buying a year old car. Many people on here got rid of their 172 after about a year of ownership. In some instances its not actually as bad fanancially as some people make out to offload a nearly new car. Depends on the finance package that it was...
I dont think you should tbh. Youve already got together a good few valid reasons why you shouldnt get one. Surely if you buy one you just going to start the same thoughts again and then look to get rid...
Are any of the other Jap turbo motors easier on insurance/running costs??
I like my 172, but I wouldnt have another. After a while the electrical niggles and crap build quality throughout start to grate. Having said that, when I was looking around for cars in this price range and this sort of age it was the best in terms of performance and fun. Its just hopelessly let...
Theres a RWYB on Sunday that me and a mate are thinking of going to. Just want to know if anyone went down last week and if so were there many people there or was it dead??
cheers
Rick
Cool. How much do you normally charge for a job like that Gibby? You can PM me if you like.
Am I right in thinking that this Toad alarm can control the central locking as well?
What does the Toad ai606 give you over all the other cat1 alarms? Im getting a bit fed up with the one in my 172, I think one of the sensors is on the piss cos it goes off every now and again when I open the door. Im probably gonna take it back to reno and see what they can do. But on the past...
Lateral support looks a bit iffy, but you cant tell without sitting in them. Youve got to question the quality of the materials and standard of workmanship on a seat thats so cheap IMO. I would definately want to see them and try them first before buying.
Id have thought it will be expensive and you will have to book a week well in advance to make sure that there is a test available etc..
If you dont mind paying for it then go for it. It will help to get as much practice as possible in before hand tho IMO, you dont want to be starting the week...
I dont really like the standard seats. They feel good to start with if your not used to heavily bolstered seats but I just cant fit in them properly. They just dont give the same support as a proper bucket seat. Might go for some buckets later in the year if the insurance company will let me.
Yeah youve really got to rev the 172 to get the best from it. Makes it part of the fun, if you keep it under 3k revs then it can feel really sluggish; get over 4k and its :D
btw Steve, I saw your car in the car park at the Autosport show, it looked well nice. I put a post in the Spotted...
Its only a Clio. Im sure hed be proud to see his daughter in a nice new little car. Its not like your gonna roll up in a new Mercedes after hes forked out for the wedding is it. Anyway, isnt funding the wedding the brides fathers responsibilty ? Or is that just wishful thinking?!
:( :( :( Impossible to tell on the full cost until youve had the subframe damage assessed, but my guess is it will be a good few grand depending on parts
Speak to Paddy about the insurance side of it, he knows his sh*t.
Ive got one. Sounds good although the EQ options are fairly limited. Only thing that really lets it down is the small display, but once you get used to it you hardly notice. Its very easy to use as well.
Airbag problem is very common (I think this is the tenth post about it this week! lol).
The clunking noise on full lock is also fairly common. I believe there is a fix that Renault can do to the suspension mount but it has had varying levels of success. If you have a look through the...
