I hear ya tom. The cydia apps and pre installed apple ones are fine! It's the dloaded apps from the app store. Like I said it's a known problem, but Ive not seen a solution, other than dloading another app from the app store. Something to do with signing back into the app store... Ridiculous...

I'm On voda contract, thanks for the hints with settings, but I know them of by heart now. By 3rd party apps I mean stuff from the app store. It's a well documented problem. The ipa stuff always works. Thanks.

OK, I've updated to 3.1.2 jailbroken and sim unlocked with Windows Vista, followed this guide: http://www.redmondpie.com/jailbreak-and-unlock-iphone-3.1.2-firmware-on-windows-anu759/ Painless, only thing I needed and didn't see mentioned in the guide was an 02 sim, which I borrowed of the Mrs.

I'm on 3.0. Need the unlock cos I'm on Vodafone contract, I'm guessing now as long as I use a new custom fw I can retain my unlock? Is it worth the bother?

Isn't 3.0 the latest that can be sim unlocked? That's what I've got.
