How easy is it to fit new rear discs to a 172?
I've always done discs myself but always on cars where I've not had to worry about this abs ring cog thing.
Any difference?
Cheers.
I've just ordered a set of 4 x 195/45/16's for my 172.
Was gonna go for the 205's but was gonna be another £17 or so each tyre.
Had them on the VTS. Great tyres.
I believe it's genuine to be honest.
I'd come on here if it were me expecting sympathy.
I'd be amazed if people offered donations. But I wouldn't accept.
I certainly wouldn't dream of asking, especially in the first post.
lol, well everyone's different I guess.
Am I the only one who thinks this is all very strange?
First post in the thread and he's asking for money?
If it's genuine then I'm gutted for ye.
By the way, my insurance is about £200 more than I thought it'd be.
PM me for email address you can paypal me donations.
It was 4pm when I bought the car so it was getting on for dark in early Feb. I had my mate with me and we both went over the entire car. I did look along both lines of the car but the dent must have been just below my me and I've missed it.
I thought I had been meticulous, obviously not...
Hmm, Ok I just thought it looked a bargain and was pointing it out.
I have no idea what's what in the world of GPS. Just see repeated threads about Tom Toms.
I had a perfectly good Saxo VTS. Almost paid for, reliable, all good.
Still thought what the hell, get a 172. Always wanted one, you're only here once. Get it while you're young enough to enjoy it. I'll always regret not getting a Clio 16v when I could have, when they were newish.
Haven't...
How do you replace sidelights?
I can just about manage main beams but my hands are too big for the sidelights. Passenger's side is hard enough but driver's side is impossible.
If you look in the boot behind where the brake light cluster is, you'll see a little black plastic nut thing. Undo this and gently pull out the cluster.
The circuit board holding the bulbs needs to be carefully pulled off the cluster, then fit new bulb and reverse the whole process.
When I bought my car I didn't notice a dent in it.
Took it back and the Renault dealer put me in touch with a Dent Wizard guy saying they would cover the costs.
Seen him this morning and he says that, the position it is, he can't remove it - something to do with the wing being double...
If it's an 04 it's probably either a 172 or 182.
172 then there's no options for suspension, just Satnav, 6 cd changer
182 has the option of the Cup suspension (and alloys) and/or Cup spoiler packs.
Either way the badge on all Renaults is silver. Gold badges is tacky if you ask me.
Oh end of story then, the argument's settled. Good sir Randall has spoken. ;)
'Raped' such a ridiculous term. I hear people using words like this when they mean one car length or even less.
However, equally I here people say 'oh car X can keep up with car Y' when in fact car Y isn't even...
My K reg 1.4 RT. Bought in August 1999 at 51k miles. Traded in July 2003 at 108k miles. Loved it to bits. Bought a Saxo VTS after that.
Traded the VTS in a month ago. Got a nice 172 with all the extras, cruise, esp, 6 cd... love it.
Haven't actually taken many pics of it yet.
It's a crying shame all that.
Feel for ye mate.
All I can suggest is get a decent 172 for £8k or so and use some of the change from the payout for this years and next years insurance. A grand each year should help ye afford the rest of the insurance.
Get a nice private plate on it too...
I doubt it's slower, not that I've driven a Trophy or a v6. If it is, it's not gonna be loads.
I know which I'd sooner have. v6's turn everyones heads. Just be careful where you park it, my 172 gets enough attention.
Nice one mate.
