Hi,
This noise is doing my head in! Started yesterday, and only does it when I'm at a constant speed in a straight line. Initially I thought "wheel bearing" as it went quiet when I turned right but then I soon realised it goes silent whether I turn left or right. It disappears under braking...
Whilst everyone slates Millteks, I love the sound mine gives out. Mines had to be welded though which I was a bit upset about! Got a cat-back Milltek with Milltek decat... its fairly quiet sub 2,500RPM considering, starts to shout abit between 2,500-3K RPM, then just rasps above 3,500RPM.
So...
I've had a few beers tonight so bear with me with this...
I've had my Clio for 2 months now and about a week after I bought it, I noticed when driving at low speeds then braking, I was getting a slight clunk noise as I was coming to a halt. Sometimes just one clunk, other times maybe 4-5.
I...
So it would probably be a lot less hassle just getting an aftermarket alarm installed. Although it would cost more.
My Clio came with an aftermarket Thatcham 1 alarm with additional sensors fitted. It unlocks like any other Renaultsport Clio but shortly after unlocking, it emits a long beep to...
.....But I keep seeing "RB 182" around the forums and I'm stumped if I can figure out what it means... Obviously a 182 Clio but what is the "RB" part all about?
Anyone care to enlighten me?
Thanks.
Could be a faulty sensor in the door? My old car did this, the door open sensor was corroded so only worked about 5% of the time. Unlock, get in, after 30secs car would lock itself thinking the door hadn't been opened.
Re: Ade's Renaultsport 182 Project
I thought about this and even posted a thread on here about doing it in carbon fibre but I'm not really keen on the ones I've seen with a cf roof so far
Thought I would begin a thread for (small) updates on my car.
Bought the car with full service history and 56,000 on the clock a month ago. Both Cup packs and cambelt change at 47K.
Modified already with:
Cat-back Milltek Exhaust
Green Panel Filter
Laserline Thatcham 1 Alarm (with extra...
For under £4k there is an abudance of 182's about that have had the cambelt/dephaser/aux belts done on time. Just takes time to find a 'true' one as we saw some right states that were unfortunately complete lies on the adverts so make sure you read the service history very carefully before...
It's not the pre-cat lambda. We replaced it and its running just as bad if not worse! Could the after-cat lambda cause this as from my understanding it shouldn't?
Went to Renault and the mechanic reckons it's misfiring on a cylinder, however is unsure until its scanned at a cost of £75+vat just...
As a few have already mentioned, changing the seats out to bucket drops the height a fair bit. When I bought my 182 I was used to my mates 172 and I felt REALLY high up in the car.
As a daily they are fine to drive. I had a Golf Turbo last with long gear ratios so the Clio's shorter box and...
It's seemed to stop trying to stall since we took it for a blast but it still idle hunting a little. It sounded pretty poorly when I first turned up and it idle hunts much worse when you first start it.
Dan, thanks for your help so far.... can the lambda just been cleaned and re-installed or...
To be honest, the "get a new car" comments are true. N/A is difficult to get power from without adding a blower. Then you're no longer N/A so it cancels it out anyway.
My last car for example was a Golf GTi Turbo. I took it to my mechanic mate, paid him £250 and from 150BHP I ended up with...
I read the 182 manifolds open up power in the 172's (according to a YouTube comment) due to the re-design of the complete exhaust system for the 182 to gain the extra 10BHP (according to Wikipedia?)
True or shouldn't I believe anything I read on the internet?
Seen a few times recently, lurking around Squires Gate McDonalds. Pretty sure its a 1*2...
Are you on here? I've got the standard-looking silver 182 (until I let the Milltek rip).
I sent them a question regarding the decat, asking if I would need an exhaust sleeve to fit the decat to my (already-installed) Milltek cat-back 4 days ago. No reply so far.
So much for customer service?
I love the sound tbh buddy, sounds phenominal. I'm just a bit like "hmph" because I never knew the fact Milltek made crap welds until a friend from here said "Common thing with Millteks that."
It's not yet, but I'm just thinking worst case scenario.
My Golf was constantly making my worst case scenario become reality so I'm hesitant with how the Clio will treat me.
