This is for a 182. It wont fit your 172, the 172 ones have a bend in them and decat wise are more expensive than the 182 equivalent.
My advice - get a non OE cat from egay / on here
Try a wanted thread on here.
Do you have any preference as to the exhaust you would ultimately want? If so providing they have stock today (Tuesday) - it shouldnt be a problem to get to you by Thursday evening / Friday morning allowing you time on Friday to fit.
You will need a compression test most likely to check the condition of the engine, doesnt sound good if it refuses to start though.
The coolant may give you some idea e.g. if you can smell petrol etc, compression test is the starting place though.
have you checked that you are getting a spark from No 2 lead - you can check it at the coilpack end (sounds like you have already done this) or take the inlet plenum off to allow you to remove the plug and lead from number 2. Inlet plenum back on and reconnect the lead to the coilpack so it is...
spooky, i had a starting issue recently (see my other thread) it was running lumpy, then i cleaned the TB which sorted it, ran for 5 mins and then wouldn't restart - turns out that the exhaust cam timing had slipped - not saying yours is anything similar to that, just FYI.
did you have it...
Mine took 5 attempts to download. Then wouldn't install , kept getting stuck on "verifying install" tried it again this morning and after 45 mins installation I am now on.
It's a bit laggy on my ageing iPhone 4 but it's essentially a new phone !
Just had an update from the garage, exhaust cam has slipped (cam bolt not torqued correctly when the belts where done) knocking the timing out.
Faced with a big bill for cambelt and 2x new pullys, sounds like whoever did the belts in the past made a right bodge of it. Going to look at it later...
Try cleaning it first, i have just done mine & used this guide for reference (different engine but it will be similar)

So tonight i removed and cleaned the crank sensor which made no difference, its still not starting.
My neighbour mechanic also took a look and said it sounds like the timing is out, he gave me a number of a local garage that is clued up on Renaults (I will be checking he has the correct locking...
Still not starting.
Had the rac out, he confirmed the spark and injectors are fine, checked all fuses and relays and plugged it in to the diag machine to find no faults.
He said it is firing but at the incorrect time which is causing it to blow back into the inlet. (Which is the coloured...
Just to add I have removed the TB and cleaned this up, also inside the inlet as far as I can get the rag. How do I remove any carb cleaner from the chambers? Would removing the plugs and turning it over help?
I have disconnected the air box elbow from the airbox in an attempt to allow the...
I have checked all fuses , there is a spark and all plugs are in working order.
I even borrowed plugs and leads from my mates working 182 fitted them to mine and it made no difference.
When i took the plugs out and they were damp and it didnt smell like petrol. I removed the throttle body...
Gaz - yes the pipe is connected at both ends.
Had the plugs out for a visual check and clean , also cleaned the throttle body area for good measure. Refitted and after a little persuasion it started, and was idling and revving clean (the noise around the inlet is still there). So I left it...
Well following on from this thread http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?703938-182-blowing-exhaust-or-is-it
I decided to re-check for blows around the cat area - I revved the car whilst stationary to 6K+ rpm listening for increased noise anything visual in either of the cat joins, as i...
