For those of you using the dev version, what will happen release day, will you be given the option to 'upgrade' to the public release? Just curious really.
Are they a proper garage or just an MOT place ? If not a proper garage they probably wouldn't know where to start with the repairs and could open a right can of worms once they start messing IMHO. Ring VOSA for advice and see what they say.
Yes it's straight to look at. I replaced the cat to manifold kit and heavy duty clamp previously when it was blowing slightly. Sealant I used high temp stuff on the cat to centre section join.
Not sure on the exact figures but you won't go far wrong with "as tight as you can". I am not sure why they are different from drivers to passenger side unless they need tightening.
When you say top mounts do you mean the visible part in the engine bay which sits on top of the suspension turret?
It's quite possible that they don't sit flush on the turret, I would check both sides are tightened up properly (Allen key in the centre to hold the top of the shock) whilst the...
Right here are the measurements - I have used the black bumper strip as the reference for the beginning and end of measurements.

nice thread! I get flashbacks to the ring on a daily basis which bring a smile to my face , normally when going round tight corners ;) sad eh.....hoping to go back next year
as I said in my post above, if you get a normal socket on it with breaker bar (or even just the ratchet) try undoing it , there will be some initial give where you think you are turning the spring and then it will crack off...I have successfully done this every time I have had to remove one.
