My method is the pre wash with VP citrus pre wash via pump sprayer, wash with mitt then rinse with 2 watering cans , do the wheels last with the remainder of my wash bucket and use the last of the water to rinse. Not ideal but it does me. If its really dirty / salty then use the local pressure...
Good luck with the hunt :( you don't have to change anything , I suggest getting a feel for the car for a while before changing bits once you know what direction you want to go in IMHO. They are very capable cars in standard form

Did you use AG instant tar remover? How did you apply it? I struggle with this product when using a microfibre , I will probably just buy some tardis when this is used up,applying with a spray bottle I think will be more effective alone
I have just done mine with a combination of AG engine degreaser, daisy APC and a microfibre cloth and a washing up brush - no need to rinse , just wipe down - came up lovely

thats the other issue (aswell as where they decide to jack it) - they always scratch the alloys when doing a tyre change - getting new tyres is not an enjoyable experience for me!
In your first picture on the right hand side next to the ARB there is a bolt head which I use for the jack then the chassis rail for the axle stand, personal preference though
Good thread, i also need to do mine, read about pulling them outside the car and washing but i would be too concerned with causing some kind of paint damage.
