Search “leather repair company” on google. They sell/promote some awesome kits. A lad that details on FB that I follow swears by them and his before/after shots are epic.
Spray Tar and glue remover over the wheels, leave for 15 minutes, pressure wash off.
It’s the easiest pain free way to remove plasti-dip. (I used to valet a car for a guy that did it for a living)
Oh, and yellow cars are hella-gay!
I love these. I’m not usually a fan of Jap crap but I could quite easily smoke that bad boy around.
(Is it not super rare in a manual? Apologies, I have no knowledge of them)
I've been doing track days for 15+ years and have a big circle of friends that do it too. Im yet to find someone that's bought a 'Track prepped' car and not had to fix umpteen bodges inside and out. Buying someone else's headache if you ask me.
I once went to view a 'Track 172 Cup' off this...
Ahhh, I see. There's a few different engine variants on the 1800. Majority are Timing chain iirc, with the earlier ones Belt. I just assumed they were all Belt.
Get new brake fluid flushed through, take a tyre pressure gauge and a pump, a pack of cable ties, a Stanley knife and a trolley jack/wheel brace and a 10/13 mm spanner.
Been doing track days for 20 years and never needed anything more.
Most fun I’ve had was in a standard 115bhp MX5 At Combe...
It's nice but I do think these look much better when they're a bit lairy. Bigger spoiler, bigger wheels etc.
Lovely power though, the sweet spot for these I think. Quick enough to enjoy, not mental enough to die.
Can you not get a van for a company Vehicle? Less company car Tax, bigger towing capacity, Your employer can claim all the VAT back too.
Something like a Citroen Dispatch, Transit Connect etc will tow a clio and a trailer and you van get them in a 5 seater variant. Bloody comfy and well...
I do a 60 mile a day commute, 50% lanes and 50% motorway, 6/7 days a week plus whatever I do on evenings etc and my car hasn’t been washed since about August. It’s still as clean as a whistle. Where do you buggers drive to get so dirty!?
Track days, tip runs, dropping my boy off with his bikes, General van duties.
I’ve got a little bit of work to do on it in Jan, but I’ll be doing a track day in it before the end of Jan 2020, I’ve ot done one this month and I’ve got withdrawal symptoms. 😂
I sold my Monaco (50k, repaint, new belts etc etc) for £5k about 2 years ago.
A guy bought it to put in to his collection and it hasn’t moved since.
It’s lovely having these tidy low mileage cars but I just don’t understand not using them. Driving is the best bit!
Look forward to your updates.
He sold it cheap yeah, The new owner then decided to try and make ‘improvements’ and basically naused it up.
my mate then bought it back, fitted a bigger turbo, a cage and some other bits and it’s now a toy rather an a fun daily.
