Oooh, Uniroyals…..
I've just bought 'four' uniroyal rainsport 5's for the Kangoo. I did a trackday in said Kangoo with my new Rainsport 5's and the day went well.
Upon finishing the track day, I noticed that one of the tyres is actually a Uniroyal Rainsport 3..... *SPASTIC TYRE FITTER ALERT*...
Nothing will offer that level of economy and performance for £2k.
I hate VAG cars, I think they’re absolute s**t, but I flipping LOVED my Fabia VRS. Economy, power, comfort. Just brilliant little cars full stop.
The problem with a metallic colour, the paint job needs to be flawless or it will look like s**t.
White hides all sorts of sins. And given that this (full! Inside and out!) respray is costing me £845, it won’t be flawless! Lol
Dropped off at the bodyshop this morning, complete repaint in Ford Frozen White and I should have it back in 3 weeks. (He only works part time)
Then when it’s back, I will be sending it somewhere to get finished and pay whatever it costs. Fed up of looking at it and I just want to drive it...
They’re not strong enough, whenever I put semi-slicks in there they bend under the pressure on the tyre machine. And the don’t allow enough heat out of the brakes. They’ve currently got Rainsport 5’s on them and they’ll be staying in for daily driving.
But some decent wheels and semi slicks will...
There were 5 or 6 of them there, and at least 3 of them were a f**king pain in the ass and wouldn't move out of the way. Same with a Silver Boxster and a bloke in a Big Jag XJ Race car. Seemingly a fat bloke in a van irritated them... lol
Had an Absolute Riot at Oulton Park on Tuesday. What a Circuit!!! Van caused a bit of a stir again as per usual, must have had 10 people come over and talk to me about it. Given my lack of social ability that isn't pleasant but I tried my best...
Coilovers and some Better wheels are on the...
Yes.
Using a different coolant is fine I’m sure, but I’d only do it if I’d flushed out every last bit of the OE stuff first. Or, save the hassle and just stick to Type D as it makes life much simpler.
My mate has been running it in his track car for about 3/4 years and it seems brilliant. Can open the lid of the expansion bottle after 30 minutes on track and it’s nowhere near as hot as normal coolant.
My perfect road spec clio;
Petrol blue clio 182 FF.
Bilstien B14’s,
15 inch TD1.2’s in silver with PS4’s.
recaro SPG bucket seats but with standard seatbelts.
Sabelt steering wheel.
Janspeed exhaust and sports cat (best I’ve ever heard!)
and some decent discs pads and fluid with braided...
bucket of hot water, as hot as your hands can take. Half a bottle of Miltons baby sterilising fluid.
Couple of clean microfibers and wipe, rinse cloth, wipe, rinse cloth, etc etc. They'll be like brand new and smell lush.
