Do you have a before power reading? Be interesting to know a direct before and after.
You dont need an engine crane to do it if you go the subframe removal route. Still a pain in the arse for little gain I've heard.
Good luck and hope you get something out of it.
After fitting a Decat the usual warning light came on the dash.
Can anyone tell me if you are actually losing power due to the ecu thinking the cat is Fu*ked and so adjusting the fueling or timing or is it only telling you as a warning?
Got a rolling road session next weekend and can't...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Now that the track season is over the car can now start its winter transformation. Well nearly as I have a rolling road day next weekend then its MOT with the cat on then the transformation begins. Here is a couple of vids from knockhill last weekend...
Looks like a manufacturing Fu*k up from the factory. Defo not right IMHO.
But in thinking, if the vibration is only there after removing this mount then it must be drilled off centre for a reason. No idea why though.
If the pad face is still flat and level then make sure they're not glazed and I would use them again. If the disc was heavily grooved and the pad face matched this profile then when new discs are fitted the contact area will be hugely reduced and so I would replace both.
What sort of power are you going for?
Without strengthening the bottom end you not going to get big power which makes the cost of the conversion unfeasible.
The cost of ph1 or even ph2 172 these days you'd be better getting one of them as then you have 170bhp out the box.
Please don't say you...
I've always used motul 5w40 and it gets up to temp quickly. 10w40 would do but won't heat up to temp as quick and will slightly affect fuel economy too. For long journeys you'd be fine but for town driving and short journeys you want maximum lubrication ASAP.
This is definitely how to make friends and influence people.
I am 30 and have a Clio. Guess I'm a bit pathetic then. Also have an Impreza P1 and a Leon Cupra but that irrelevant.
After driving either the P1 or the Cupra I still love getting back in the Clio for a track day and believe the...
Not the best practice to mix to be honest as it seperates at different temps but if you're low it's better to have some oil than no oil.
Get an oil change so that you know what is in there.
Loosen the the engine mount and upper gearbox mount and pull the engine forward then retighten to the correct torque (62Nm iirc).
What exhaust do you have? I had this with a ktec stealth but managed to get it to sit ok eventually. The back box was knocking off one of the rear springs.
Engine...
