Getting Pee'd off now, starter motor?

Is it trying to start or not? Have you checked the battery? This is the time of year for battery failures.

    Glowing hot brake discs.... normal?

If you're giving it some then there is no reason the brakes wouldn't be glowing.

    Fuel rails and injector differences?

Is there any difference to the physical dimensions to a Clio 172 fuel rail and injector to a megane 225 fuel rail and injector. Mostly referring to pitch between injectors and how the injector connects to the rail. Cheers

    De-cat truth

Now onto sports cats rather decats. The thread is evolving much like the human race its been going on so long!

    engine hosing colour options

Black looks too much like standard so if that's what you want then go for black. On a mondial blue car I dont think you can go for anything different from blue or red IMO.

    De-cat truth

Cost tooooooo much for the gains you get or not as the case may be. Don't even get any more noise.

Down on power and very lumpy

Funny that. whats the significance of no.3 injector. In subaru's it is no.3 cylinder that has most issues due to it being closest to the turbo but I wonder if there is something on the f4r's too or maybe it's just you and I. :rasp:

Down on power and very lumpy

Removed all the injectors and gave them a flush through with injector cleaner. Injectors 1, 2 and 4 were fine and sprayed well but when no 3 was getting cleaned it started to sizzle slightly and then this happened: Looks like I need a new injector then. When putting some voltage to open the...

Down on power and very lumpy

I'll take a look. Any cause you can think of? Car is on 70k but this year is all track day miles. I'll take a look and see whats what. Thanks again guys!

Down on power and very lumpy

Did come and go at first then just came and got worse as I drove home. I use tesco 99 on all my cars and have never had any bother even on my Impreza and the wife's Cupra. I have heard of dodgy fuel batches so might be a cause. Thought it might be cat related or Decat related as it was as the...

Does caliper have to come off?

New disc is thicker than the old ones so you need to push the piston back again.

Down on power and very lumpy

Went to a rolling road session today but never actually managed to get the car on the rollers. I had to drive about 40 miles and the car was running fine. On the way I filled up with £20 of tesco 99 as I was sitting about 1/4 tank. Parked up when I got there and waited my turn. It took about an...

    Icemans Britcar Endurance project 182

Just wondering about endurance racing. I usually take my car out for 25-30 minute sessions on a trackday then let it cool. What have you chosen for brake pads, brake discs and also engine cooling (radiator, oil cooler) for endurance racing.

2 annd 3 point adjustable Whiteline RARB???

Mine is only a 2 hole version. Never seen a 3 hole one to be honest. I have mine on the softer setting and feel that's enough with the kw's on track.

Better gains from a Decat on a turbo motor then N/A one.

    Starter Motor (quoted price query)

Looked it up in the manual and it actually doesn't look too bad a job. Should be easy enough to do in a couple of hours.

    Starter Motor (quoted price query)

Job to change the starter motor due to where its located. I'm about to fit one on my eninge but its on a stand so not so difficult. Dealership rates are around £70 per hour so 4 hours plus parts and you're there.

    Decat with dash light

Mine came on about 800 miles after fitting. I had been on 2 trackdays and on driving home from the second the light came on. I've got so many lights on my dash now I feel like they all keep me company when driving in the dark nights! :clown:

is it worth get a ph1 airbox for my..

That's the plan so fingers crossed. Going to get the car MOT'd then I can start. The new setup doesn't have a cat so a years MOT should help me to and from trackdays then by this time next year I should have a trailer and the car will be off the road.

is it worth get a ph1 airbox for my..

That's what the acoustic valve is for. I certainly do but with a CAF. Not sure if it actually gives me any more power, doubt it. I'm going to use on my turbo set up soon too. :D

is it worth get a ph1 airbox for my..

You'll not notice the power loss and it will only be when heat has built up in the engine bay but will be a loss. If they didn't do anything why would they be there?

    De-cat truth

Going for a dyno run on Saturday with Decat, espace v6 airbox and full yozza system on a 172 cup. I'll post up the results when I get them. The Decat sounds good and seems to make the engine rev more freely but as I only use mine on track I haven't noticed any flat spots.
