Ice road truckers use winter tyres mate. End of. They may not have studs in them but they are certainly a softer compound. It makes an enormous difference

Some amazing brain-dead idiots on this thread. And people who have never tried Winter tyres obviously. I had a Volvo V70 last year and it was diabolical in the snow. Literally couldn't set off on a slight gradient. Winter tyres added and it was like a different car. Absolutely no problems...

Same car, get what you prefer. Theres nothing in it performance-wise despite what some of the super-human drivers on here say.

I had a set of cheap ones on my Volvo last year and they were absolutely brilliant. Having some serious problems sourcing any for the Clio this year though.
