Heat resistant paints your best bet ! I have a antracite one for sale ATM but they don't sell awesome so unless your fitting it I wouldn't bother mate !
No real height restrictions , the tester can refuse if he thinks it will damage the car , all tests should be carried out on a 4 poster MOT specific ramp, as long as it goes in the brake roller tester I will test them ! If not they can do a deceleromoter test !

Hit and miss IMO , like every single car with every single problem some cars have the problems Some dont, depends on how they are driven but even then the softest drives (like me) still have things brake!
Imo they are no less reliable than any other car if looked after !

They did mine very well took good pride quick job but I supplied all the bits myself as I get them all at staff rate from renault ! But defo take it there mate ! My timing must have been slight out as it pulled loads better after !
Haha chances are it'll pass , they warm it up by leaving it idling which does collect a little more in the exhaust give it some welly before the test make sure it's hot enough to be on the warm map on the engine as cold the engine is set to slightly over fuel !

Had you gotten the car nice and warm before presenting it for test? Might sounds to simple but often a quick hard blast in a car may clear it up ! If HC is dead high obviously it isn't going to fix it but without seeing the results I'm guessing !

yeah these have a power wire (red) and an earth black Ive tried them with a straight feed from the battery and earth works fine , I managed to them the to work off the wiring , but they didnt dim completely and the interior light didnt work as well :S
I couldn't get them to work as you did it without the switch :/ it may be because I tapped into the wiring before the lamp not off the lamp !
Does your interior lamp still work with these in ?
