^^ still want to try these.. i was under the assumption that the oem ones were Pilot Exaltos so i went for those last time. Very very pleased with them but i think these Contis will do very good aswell, maybe better ?
if they do, everybody does.. good that someone has noticed !
Maybe if almost all Clio owners react to this having the same problem, Renault will be forced to call back all cars to modify !
^^ i'm doing the same this/next week. 182 manifold will be mounted, the 172 K-tec decat i have now on the 172 manifold will be cut to fit the new setup , and then i will start on the original 172 cat to make it just like MarkOne has done.. Will get somebody else to do the welding ...
pm FeelX on here, he was about to design an airbox a while ago and had the drawings etc. all ready , also somebody who could fabricate it and deliver the materials.
I'm talking about a year ago so maybe you can look up his thread (or was it a post to someone else's thread?) and decide if...
Murcod you have started a good thing here , hope that more people will check and post up their pics here ; good evidence for your case with Renault
Keep this thread in mind everybody for next time your car is on the bridge so pics can be taken !!
What needs to be removed to see this , or is...
how/where to go about getting a Gates kit ? Just all autoparts shops ?
40pounds is a pretty big difference !! Mine is being done next week so i'll be after a Gates kit then coming monday
ahh i think you must mean the aux. belt , only one visible. Get it done though , as the aux belt can, when/if it goes, take the cambelt out aswell
^^ somebody on here has a posted a thread of his 172 cat modification to fit between the 182 manifold + rest of the exhaust for MOT, i'll look it up
*** found it **

^^ from here + own experience ;)
Mine failed MOT twice , strangely enough one time was okay ?! Most cars do'nt pass Mot with it, best way to maybe pass is to have a VERY good blast in the car before doing the test, with the cat red hot.
I've sold mine because the decat is better power-wise
anybody got pics of this Jenvey single body ?
Does this also have the four trumpets in front, having to modify the front of the car (radiator etc.) ? Or is this a new kit that does'nt need the modifications ?
yep YOU are all talking about the clutch..
Sammy however was talking about another possible pault; the throttlebody . Quote ; " I`m thinking it might be something to do with the fly-by throttle in some cases"
This one (when faulty) can also go funny/twitching when giving little throttle...
yes , but when Mike (Rentech) mailed me he said it was one from a dci.
"You need a 6pk 850 belt and the steering rack is from a clio DCI "
This narrows down our search i'm guessing.

third page , i think we found our rack.
to be sure i would contact the seller of this car ?!
But he is talking about the later 172 TB i think ; not the phase 1 cable TB.
I've also read that the later one can go "spastic" (?) , opening and closing - juddering..
Only when opening throttle completely it opens up. When giving little throttle it judders, it can be checked by removing...
i've been convinced already about the inlets, not worrying. i have seen othe pics and yep the mark is there on others too ..
Would have sent Ben a pic but he's on vacation (?) and after waiting 2 months on parts from abroad + barely driving my car, because i'm scared of snapping cambelt, i...
BenR (Angelworks) stated never to have seen the waterpump in need of changing when doing the cambelt at 70k. Not neccescary ..
However a waterpump will only be 60 pounds or so ? I would/will change it. I think whengetting it done at Renault they autom. also change waterpump. Mine is up next week...
^^ yeh mine got changed at 35k.. (previous owner) maybe it's time again now i'm at 70k..
so symptons are noisy + tracking/steering going funny ?
i have a "creaking/clunk" noise growing stronger , it's NOT the full lock noise .. (i do'nt ever go full lock either btw PAS do'nt like it)
It's the best mod you can do on the (especially) earlier RS's
Next thing to do uprated airfilter (bigger cold air feeds, maybe lose the acoustic valve) , like an ITG in the OEM filterhouse ; does a very good job with mine !
After this (do'nt know if your exhaust is already done ?? must!) get...
can it be that a smaller bolt was used there ? Doés'nt look like the holes are worn, just looks like the bolt is too small/slim
^^ edit ^^ just read that there are more cars with this problem.. ?
