Exactly the same thing happened to me. The airbag frame had been bent, so the slots in the dash wouldn't release. My solution was to unplug and unscrew the passenger airbag in situ and bring it out with the dash - super fiddly with a 1/4 wrench but it worked.
Then bent the airbag frame back...
That's what I was thinking... If MC fluid/pad pressure is the same as before and the pedal progression from the bigger calliper cylinder feels good why mess with it 🤷♂️
@stealthstylz have you had chance to change over the master cylinder?

Would recommend genuine again. Aftermarket split after two years and leaked the gel-bush-fluid stuff inside. Genuine been on their three years and still doing a great job. (assuming its one of these)

From my experience three options:
1. Buy genuine, rubber lasts way longer and stays tougher. I had an aftermarket (maybe Febi) break on me after two years. When braking the engine would shift forward meaning I lost reverse, 1st and 2nd... That was a fun drive back from work
2. Buy a cheap one...

@Adey. Bit of a revival, going down the route of 307/280mm conversion. I did a test fit today and I wanted to ask if the carrier gap looks about right.
I haven't used any spacers here so it would come out another 1-2mm - does this look similar to your twingo set up?

Done 50K in mine now (78K on the clock) and this rings true. Serviced every 10K, new timing belt and pump when it needs it then given a beating.

I believe they just raise the seat an arbitrary amount. I have seen people recommend swapping them for washers to lower a few mm - or binning them completely as @leeds2592 has suggested

Cant find any new ones for sale. I would suggest rust treating the old one (if surface rust). Otherwise try finding one at a breakers, they do come up on Ebay every so often if you are willing to wait.

Do you have a multimeter to test that the positive live and the accessory live are working as intended in the car?
Im pretty sure I had to reverse the connectors on my Sony unit, as in:
Red ---> Yellow
Yellow ---> Red
