Has anybody else ever had problems with non-Genuine starter motors?
Got one from GSF today and after spending a while fitting it, the bloody thing wouldn't work. The starter it's self was fine but the shaft that pops out of the motor wasn't long enough to catch the flywheel. Looking at both...
Fitted on this afternoon and just taken it for a little run.
Although the turn in is sharper, the front end feels as if it's skipping slightly and the back end seems more nervous, not dangerously nervous but it wouldn't take alot of provoking for it to step out.
Just wondering if I've fitted...
Just wondering if there's any kind of warranty on genuine starter motors. Had a new starter motor fitted about 9months ago and it's completely packed up tonight.
Just wondering if anyone has ever or at least tried to alter their estimated annual mileage in their insurance policies. If so, did it effect the cost of the premium at all?
I may end up covering more mileage than expected and exceeding the mileage I told my current insurers I'd cover in the year.
My dephaser pulley has been noisey for a fair few months now but there's another noise that's quite worrying. It only happens when the engine is warm and when the throttle is blipped at low RPM. Could it still be related to the dephaser pulley or has another issue developed. You'll have to...
Doesn't happen very often this and it only happens when the engine is cold.
On idle not long after starting the car seems to miss for a second, seems like it runing on 3 cylinders and nearly cuts out, a second after the car picks up again and runs fine. It'll only do it on the very rare...
Was a racing blue 182 with the two white stripes running over the car.
Spotted you on Guisness road going the opposite way to me, I did notice you put your hand up in acknowledgement but I was in a world of my own and reacted abit late to it, hence the flash of the hazards lol.
Just found my knock sensor hanging off. I noticed yellow tape around it a while ago, so obviously the previous owner has snapped it while removing the oil filter and bodged it.
I've just done a temporarily job on it and the engine seems to be running fine, have a rough idea on what it does...

Been looking around for Track Arms on a few sites and with it being a bank hoiliday I obviously can't ring...
Was driving up to my mates last night via the M60 and suddenly my steering wheel started shaking pretty violently. My 1st thoughts were "ffs what's broke now". Pulled over on the hard shoulder and investigated around the front wheels, never spotted anything so I thought I'd try the wheel nuts. 3...
Managed to get my wipers off before and investigate my intermittently working washer jets. Turns out it is the motor that's the problem. Only thing is I managed to drop the rubber gromit that holds the motor to the water bottle.
I think it's dropped down in to the wheel arch area and I'll have...
Just recently my washer jets have been playing up again, rear works fine but the fronts are being temperamental. Before all I was getting was a tiny dribble out of the jets.
Just thought I'd check for blockages before replacing the motor, did this by attaching a small pump and blasted air down...
Had abit of spare time this afternoon so I sanded my 1.4 bullets smooth and painted them gloss back. Can't decide if they look alright or look s**t, was even thinking of sourcing a decal in yellow saying "?.?"
Yes I know before anyone says it, I have to much time on my hands. lol.
Finally got my arse in to gear and did something about my wheels. Two of them were curbed due to a fail I had in the snow and the lacquer was bubbling. Managed to finish the last wheel today with assistance from Seb (Sofaboy). Cheers mate :)
Pictures aren't the best as they're taken with my phone.
Just outside my house yesterday afternoon, I was busy sanding down one of my wheels and noticed a green 200 drive past. Made a brief visit to a house just opposite mine.
Just a couple of tunnel runs and obviously done on private land ;)

Edit: Cheers Jord :)
Really do need to get cracking on with this now as two of my wheels are looking pretty shocking, lacquer has started peeling on one of them. Just can't decide which colour, thinking matt black or something darker than the current Anthracite colour.
Question about the centre caps though, does...
Saw a blue 172 Cup with white wheels around the Trafford park/Eccles area last night and I've been informed it's been involved in a serious accident just outside Stretford Arndale this morning.
Currently got 10w40 engine oil in the engine at the moment but I've got 0w40 and 5w40 in the garage. Would I be able to top up with the 0w40 and 5w40 without causing problems?
Just seen you about 20minutes ago near the Swinton roundabout near the M60. Noticed the ClioSport badge in the rear window and I think it was a YozzaSport sticker on the side skirt.
Fitted one over my starter motor today, was a right fiddly job but I thought I managed to get it clipped on. Anyway took the car out before and it fell off, right on to the driveshaft, so I could here it flapping on the driveshaft, took ages getting it out.
What's the best way to fit them...
Fitted Koni Adjustable dampers to my car today but due to a problem I've had to fit the standard dampers back on the rear.
Now I know the car's handling isn't going to be brilliant with it's current set up but when ever I drive over a bump in the road the steering goes really light and the car...
Once these are fitted, I'm presuming it'd be ideal to get the car fully aligned to get the best out of them?
They lower the car roughly 45mm according to a few things I've read about them, so it'd probably knock the camber out thus causing tyre wear.
Edit: Just realised I've put this in the...
Not sure which section to put this in.
After reading a few threads on here the best "off the shelf" colour match to Renault's Anthracite colour is the one Halfords do called "Rover Stone Grey".
My question is, is the "Rover Stone Grey" a decent match to the Anthracite that The Wheel...
Had these fitted to my car for a while now, well several different bulbs because they keep blowing. I'm not sure if it's the bulbs themselves that are prone to blowing or there's a short somewhere causing it.
Another decided to pop tonight but I actually witnessed this one blow. Saw it have...

Lol. Just had a good read of this. I know the car and know it's not as "mint" as the seller says.
Edit: Apologies if I've put this in the wrong section, wasn't sure where to post it.
Fitted a Ph-1 airbox to my Cup today, got to say it's made a difference as the throttle response seems sharper and because I've not fitted the CAFs I'm getting alot of induction roar.
What I don't understand though is that it's quietened the exhaust down and took away some of it's rasp, I'm...
