What? Take pictures of flowering moss on the floor of a derelict maternity units with a black oozing sink in the background? As often as possible :). I've got stack loads of interesting bokeh strewn pictures from over the years of exploring, but the above has long been a favourite of mine :).
In days before the IKEA in Southampton opened, I made various trips to IKEA at Croydon in the Vee. This armchair was a bit of a bugger to squeeze in ...
Actually there are three very obvious derelict buildings all within 30 seconds of getting off the M27 at Hedge End ;). You clearly need to use your eyes more :p. One of them is the skankiest most rat invested place I've ever had the pleasure to explore!
(And actually it can't of been me since I...
Might find a bridge camera aka superzoom fits the bill better. What you loose in absolutely photo quality, is made up for in terms of a single lens that'll go from wide to very long. I racked up over 50k shots on my old Sony DSC-H1! The new Sony DSC-HX1 has a very trick panoramic mode that has...
LOL ... time code from the video is clearly exact, but clocks are the weak point, so a bit more educated than a guess. Either way I was pleased with how the Vee ran at the time, but as I said not a regular trick to try.
I've always been intrigued why the Vee gets short shrift on performance...
It shouldn't be a huge surprise. The Mk1 was officially 6.3 to 60, but was timed at 5.8 on tests by a couple of magazines. Mk2 has a shorter gearbox hence its official 5.8 time. Must admit my experience is based on a videoed dash and so is off the clocks which I'll admit isn't a scientific...
Mk2 Vee is easily sub-6.0 seconds to 60. 5.8 seconds officially, but in my experience if you nail the start well you're talking around 5.5 second, and then into 3rd at 65+. My 172 was nippy, but it wasn't that fast in a straight line. Above 60 then the Vee would start pulling ahead more...
Adverts tend to come and go on Spotify. You can go ages without any, and then get a bunch in short succession. Will admit that I was worried for a while when I had no ads for about a week, since I want to see Spotify to survive but am too tight to pay a tenner a month. Hence, they're dependent...
Yep ... for that money you'll definitely be talking an abused one! If anything Vee prices are on the up again now that people have stopped panicking quite so much about tax and fuel and the recession.
Recently fitted reds all round on my Vee and at first I thought they were pukka, but once the bedding in stuff on the faces wore off I've been finding that they're a bit less immediate.
When's that ever stopped it being berated as being slow and heavy by mostly people who've never had the pleasure of smiling on every journey in their Vee ;).
So happens that when I did the rears on the Vee the other month, Micheldever tyres offer Nitrogen filling for £2 (which is nought on top of the tyre price) and so thought I'd give it a go. Better fuel consumption and slower leakage ... bugger knows if it's true but at least I've got green valve...
The main difference with the Trophy is its pink paintwork! A couple of likely lads turned up outside my house once in a brand new Trophy and knocked on my front door. My missus literally slammed the door in their face because she didn't like the look of their ghey pink car!
Another +1.
I've got a huge collection of MP3s on my machine, and access to many more for free, but at the moment I'm almost exclusively surfing stuff on Spotify! It scrobbles to last.fm and is controlled using the MacBook's media keys too. Spot on ;).
I've not got a private plate ... but as far as I know I'm the "only Vee in the village". There are various other Illiads around the area including at least one guy from the Hamble area with a private plate who I met in ASDA car park once.
