Tiny update today. Haven't done much to the car for ages due to large bill mentioned in above post.
However, I finally got around to fitting my fresh number plates today, no 'before' shots but some rubbish after shots, had to rush the pictures as it started to rain. You can't really tell from...
No idea sorry mate, it isn't my car. It is another cs member's but I forget the name. Might be a civic type r ariel, that's a common replacement on these.
Looking really nice! With regards to wheel colour, if I had a flamer I'd be doing everything within my power to make it look like this utter perfection:
HOLY THREAD REVIVAL, BATMAN!
I now need to get this sorted on my second clio with 172 seats, I didn't get around to doing it on the old car as I still need some info.
If you'd be so kind as to give me a little more advice? Such as what's happening with the black wires in both pictures? They're...
Good to see some more dcis on here! I personally think that 15" wheels look a bit small on a mk3 so I would've gone for either 16" or 17" tbh. If I was you I'd go for coilovers rather than lowering springs since it sits so high standard, you'd be better off as they're adjustable so you can have...
Haha sorry mate but there's been a monumental **** up with the wheels. They were advertised as 15" but it wasn't until I'd got them re-bored and sandblasted that i realised they were actually 14", so they won't be going on now :(
Progress has been particularly slow lately as I had to fork out...
All 3 look alright to be honest, anthracite would be my pic though. However, each one of them needs lowering so I'd have that on the top of my priority list if I were you.
Oh right, I didn't know that. Does that also apply to seats then? Since there's airbags in the front seats, would replacing them with say bucket seats also cause it to fail MOT? Or is it exclusive to the steering wheel?
The only reason I can think of for it failing is if changing the steering wheel caused the airbag light to come on the dash, which it would unless you took the bulb out or wired in some resistors or something of that nature. I could be wrong though, I don't have an aftermarket steering wheel...
Tread depths don't really matter in the dry, in fact bald tyres would grip better in the dry than brand new tyres since there'd be more rubber on the road (hence why F1 tyres look like that). It makes a difference in the wet though as there's nowhere for the water to go so you'd just aquaplane...
Just off ebay so I doubt it's particularly good http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271472050584?var=570319208465&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Although I believe jesus used it to retrim the roof lining on his trophy.
Recently bought some alcantara fabric to wrap my A pillars and a few other bits in. I bought some spray adhesive, but it was way too thick and just soaked through it. Anyone who's done it that can recommend some adhesive? Or just people who are generally clued up on the subject, your input would...
Great review! I'd been wondering about Nankang NS-2s since the reviews were very mixed online and they were by far the cheapest half-decent sounding tyres in 205/45/16.
I had toyo T1-Rs for a short time and found them to be dreadful in the wet, understeering in a wet car park at about 5mph (no...
As far as I remember I just used a wooden/rubber mallet to hit the diamond out of the surround from the back. It still kind of clips back in place so you shouldn't have to glue it (I never did, and this was well over a year ago).
Thanks for all the positive comments. I was a bit unsure of whether to go for coilovers or not, but I'm really glad I did because I think it looks loads better and the handling is awesome now.
Just a few more little touches to come and the new wheels and I think I'll be finished :)
