I did wonder if it was the flywheel not being flat. Do have some paperwork of a aftermarket flywheel being fitted in 2009. Can't say if that's still on though.
It's the time factor for pulling it apart, need the car for work. I will have to get some free time to strip it all down and see what's...
It's not but just had to google it sounds on the same level...national clutch. Seeing the price of these maybe it's made of chocolate and the reason it's already shot!
Like to think the clutch was changed, the fact it didn't slip for the fist 6 weeks I would say so. Certainly got worse since then. Know there are some dodgy garages out there, read it was a faff to replace the clutch so thought I was taking the easier opinion. Least nothing should be seized on...
Wouldn't have thought a cheap clutch would go that quick!
£100 for a valeo clutch doesn't sound bad to me :) the way it's going it will have no drive lol
Hi guys,
I have done a number of searches to see what people think of why the clutch is slipping. Currently if you give anything over half throttle in 3rd and above the clutch is slipping. The clutch is new, fitted in June. Was fine for a month and a half then it started to slip a little and...
Surprised a Clio would nearly catch going in the rollers at indigo. Not that my evo is low but not had a problem and seen anyone have an issue before. Still a dunk in the floor is better. Powerstations is, was there the end of last year, it wasn't reading right for any 4wd cars ;) it's a nice...
Sounds good to me bud. Nice pair of clios you have
I should really bring the clio along to the meets but if it's a drive that sounds like a good reason to use the evo
I have been looking back through the history i had with the car. There is no mileage in the recipt for the clutch change but it was done when the gearbox was replaced. Taking a look at some other service history around the same time would put the car on about 50k-55k and its on 86k now. So fair...
I done a similar idea on my car. Got hold of a cotton green to replace the cheap air filter that was bodged to the samco hose. I used some remaining cold air feed as I had some spare and a pair of joiners. Ali pipe would be better but this should work all the same.
Cheers guys.
I was thinking about taking a nut or two off and seeing what happens, with them all on there is a small amount of tension on the release fork. Will give it a go and if nothing start with a new cable.
i think the car is going too need more tlc than first thought..
Found this interesting bodge today after removing the ripspeed air filter that had been fitted by the pervious owner....... I don't think it should be like this!
Not me bud, to my knowledge there are another two yellow evo 8's around Pontypool and cwmbran, there are 2 yellow 7's as well, one is cwmbran way and the other is up Tredgar way.
It used to be a rare colour lol.....
Probably will bud, very nice car the Megan's trophy. What do you think of it?
Plans for the clio are to sort out the few issues and avoid spending any on mods as it's just a daily driver. May change but I have an evo 8 which seems to swallow money lol.
:) just give a wave lol.
Hi all
Picked up my 172 last weekend and not really driven it hard as it needs a service and some tlc. For most driving there seems to be no issue with accelerating, but if you give the car over 3/4 in 4th or 5th above 4k revs it feels as though the engine is revving freeing with no drive. Revs...
Cheers bud,
Pontypool way..
That sounds like a good laugh, I will take a look at that. Would be up for coming along.
Could be up for that when we finally get some nice weather.
Seller said a pot hole set it off, guess if hit hard enough and there isn't a great deal of give in the suspension...
Hi all
Picked up a Monaco blue 172 at the weekend. Bought as a new daily driver and the car does need some tlc but the modding bug may bite yet. Not a standard car, has a few choice parts and a fair amount of service history. It does need a service and four tyres plus the passages seat air bag...
