mines lowered 60mm running 205/40s without any rubbing even when fully loaded.also got some 80mm springs to fit for the back.
think people that are getting problems with it rubbing is due to using the wrong offset wheels...
its down to Tester discretion if its too loud it is in the mot test i have only ever failed one car for it as he had no silencers was all straight through pipe. there is 2 local garages to me that will fail any exhaust for being to loud if its a non standered part.

i have worked for both places in the passed as an MOT tester and they do use mobile 1 and castrol. you do get good centres and bad ones like any trade.
get kwik fit or national tyres to do it both use top quality oils (mobile 1 and castrol) and start from £26.10 works out the same price or cheaper as it would cost you for an oil and filter ect saves you getting dirty lol and also can get a stamp in your book.

are you sure the vortex is a cat? as there is a vortex that looks like a cat but is built to accelerate exhaust gasses away form the engine to improve performance that are around that price. if you look into the end of its its loads of pipes that spiral to the other end.

i was after a track car and ended up buying a 106 rallye with a 1.6 16v engine parts are so cheap to replace compared to clios as easier to get hold of.
i suggested pulling the abs fuse in another thread and was shot down saying it would cause 50/50 braking instant death lmao.
sounds like rim leak tyres need removeing clean the inside of the wheel where the bead sits and use bead seal cures 90% of the time most places charge £20 a wheel to sort that way.
easyist way to check is take the alloy off the car lay it face down and spray the back side wall of the tyre where...
mate has a recovery truck that maybe able to collect it for you hes in trowbridge and always up for earning a few ££ ill give him a call tomorrow see what he says.
all the compensator are pre set all valves in the abs pump are open. only time they are working is when the abs is in use and the valves open/close to hold or reduce pressure in each brake to stop the wheel locking out.
i had 205/50 15s on and changed to 205/40 17s and day to day drive feels the same apart from slightly harder ride dosnt tramline dose not rub/catch even with passengers currently running 60mm drop all round i prefer the look of 17s than 15/16s but all depends on the style of wheel and ride...
are they renault fitment?
as being et49 sounds like vauxhall fitment? if they are vauxhall fitment the wheel centre bore will be to small to fit the renaults.
