Re: Possible new splitter found!!
got mine on a couple of weeks ago. looks really good imo. easy to fit, very cheapy and is a pretty close match to a cup splitter.
stop... skoda time
fitted it 2 weeks ago. looks really good imo. just as good as the cup splitter and its slightly flexible so it will be harder to break.
to be honest they were a lot easier to remove than i thought but i was doing it on a very hot day, using a hair dryer in the back of the car! was very warm to say the least. the tints came off easily but they left a fair bit of glue residue. sprayed some cleaner that window fitters use, then it...
i agree rory. im also getting the problem quite agressively at low spoeeds on uneven surfaces. not a very nice feeling and certianly doesn't fill you with confidence.
to be honest if its just for road use i would go for ferodo premier pads (cheap and cheerfull), brembo hc discs, braided lines, dot 5.1 fluid.
and totally standard on the rear.
will see you more than enough stopping power for a fairly small ammount of money.
just a quick update on an old thread...
i have now removed the tints. i do prefer the look without, on the downside the car gets much warmer in the sun inside the car. looks better tho imo.
what do you think?

was a last min decision to tag along with some freinds. a real mixture of cars there. spotted this clio that im sure i have seen on here before!?
there were a lot of heavily modified, stickered, sound system'd cars there which isn't really my thing but i found a few i liked that were...
think i will be taking a trip to birmingham to let fred take a look when he can fit me in :) will hopefull have an answer then.
sounds like it could be a case of one of several things that could make the car behave this way. not just one common fault.
right... little update again.
had new top mount bearings fitted and new ball joints fitted but still no joy. the car is still pulling in all directions on the road and the steering is still very light/vauge. the ball joints seem to have stiffened things up a little but something is still wrong...
right guys, a little update for those of you following this with similar problems...
took my car over to tom's (tom84 on here) and he had a good look over it. he found a little bit of play in the drivers side balljoint, and thinks that this is the most likely cause of the problem.
im getting...
you sure tom? that would be great! really want to just find the problem and sort it now, lol. its bugging me!
let me know when is good for you and i will pop over :)
so does anyone have any clue as to what may cause my camber to be out by 1 degree?
thanks for the input cupsize. interesting to see if top mounts and track rods will cure it.
following on from this thread...

... what would cause my camber to be 1 degree out? noticed that the car pulls into uneven surfaces, turn in feels sharp but followed by a bit of a wobble, and driving at high speeds feels unstable the...
what would cause the camber to be 1 degree out tho? if i can find the answer to this i might sole the problem of the dodgy steering.
yeah all of those points do help :) cheers. i have checked most of them. top mounts are standard ones, had compbrakes but they were terrible so i went back to...
my oem front dampers might need replacing soon. would people with the raceland coilovers fitted recommend them? how are you finding them? i dont want to go stupidly low (40mm all round from standard height) and i want to keep a fairly comfortable ride quality (like sportlines).
right, little update...
had the tracking looked at today. passanger side is spot on, drivers side has almost 1 degree more camber. the bloke that checked it said its possibly due to a twisted/bent shock or wishbone? does this sound right? the wishbones look straight to me. is there any way of...
was a good turnout and the weather was ok too! had fun. nice to see some new faces too :)
made me laugh how they were all mk2 ph2!
oh and those asking whwre their invite was... just check the 'east of england' section and look out for peterborough meets and feel free to come along. the more...
