right, excuse my last post. i was confused about the plans as i thought gregg and greeny were on the same convoy.
so plans are as beij said. we are leaving p'boro a1 services at 7.30. anyone joining the convoy from a1 services to be there around 7.17 :)
hope thats clear. sorry for the confusion.
i think they will be heading over about 10am gregg.
i will speak to beij and see if we are waiting at the a1 services at peterborough to join your convoy. i guess you will be at the a1 services at around 7.50?
hi fosk.
i personally wouldn't bother with a non-cup packes 182. the track is wider on the cup packs and the spoiler/splitter look so much better. for the slight diffrence in price i would just find a good cup packes 182... or a 172 cup... or even a decent ph1, love those!
right... craig, rudi and a couple of others are meeting us there. the convoy is a little too early in the morning for them i think. lol.
see you all tomorrow.
the old k-tec ones were like the compbrake ones. i had a set of those and they wouldn't stop rattling. these look totally different and they bolt to the turrets so the should not move anywhere and should be 100% better imo.
i would go for 2500's if i had more spare cash but due to now having a mortgage etc , better brake pads are not at the top of my list, especially when the ferodo premiers do a plenty good enough job on road use. it the car is going to see some track aswell as road, go for 2500's without a doubt...
cost for me tbh.
premiers are fine for me on road. cant really handle track tho. only 3 laps then they fall out of the calipers in two bits. lol. and my wallet cant handle paying for 2500's every time. oh and by the way, 2500's are not road legal, they are track only. not that it matters tho...
for road use - brembo hc discs, goodridge braided lines, dot 5.1 fluid and ferodo premier pads.
for track - all of the above but ferodo ds2500 pads.
one of the best brake upgrades for me tho was changing the standard wheels to oz ultraleggeras believe it or not.
mine is screwed down properly and it rattles on the top and sides of the inlet manifold. you can even see the marks on the cover and inlets where they make contact. it not a very loud but its still a rattle.
just seen this thread. exactly what happened to my brothers 172. cambelt slipped and took out the valves etc. very expensive. hope you get it all sorted.
they are terrible! do not get them.
i had a set for 2 weeks and sent them back with a full refund. they rattle around inside the turret no matter how tight you do them up. a lot of people who have fitted them have also found this.
imo its oem top mounts or fixed ones.
mine feel good, but i replaced the fluid with dot 5.1 at the same time.
also running ultraleggeras which are far superior at cooling the brakes than the standard crap 182 wheels.
