The sheer in gear grunt of the Vee's is what makes them so handy in the real world, it's a brilliantly torquey engine. They do handle very well - it's just if it does let go because the limits are so high, they're tricky to catch - especially with the short wheelbase and mid engine.

I must admit, I really like this Cup in Nimbus as well -

When I start officially looking, it'll be for red, black or nimbus. I don't really like the Albi, doesn't work with the stickers, LY is just too hom for me, and I can't stand racing blue - no offence to RB owners of course, it's just not for me, just looks so flat and almost like baby blue.

See, I'm looking around vaguely at 197/R27s 2nd hand, and I do find something like this -

Really hard to see a downside too. Just because it's a Cup, I can get Recaros, Nimbus, A/C, the revised gearbox and a 57 plate car with 4k on it...
That surprises me - I thought they were discs? I had a 1.6 16v 206 and that had rear discs. Of course, it doesn't actually make any difference really heh!
Car looks well dude, nice and clean :)
Dan
Yea he's on about losing the giant rear griffin as well heh! If you could post details about the temp that'd be sweet :) We found a way of making it display what we thought was the temp but when we checked on VXRonline (there is some serious tarts on there heh!) it seems we were displaying...
No, we thought that was weird too. Especially for a turbo where it matters more regarding beans when cold. Also, I know on paper these have shedloads of torque, way more than a 197, but to be honest the 197 I test drove this week didn't feel much slower at all in gear in the real world.

A few pics of my mates new Corsa VXR which I had a shot in at the weekend. It's got the bluetooth, which syncs with your phone and lets you control it from the steering wheel, phonebook and all, which is darn cool heh! Drives nice, good in gear power, seems to grip well but feels a bit figedty...
The ph2 understeers a lot more than the Ph1 - that turns in as well as you like - unfortunately the back sometimes doesn't follow hehe :) The problem is, to get the best of out it, you have to pretty darn talented, and most buyers, myself included, aren't heh!
Having thought a bit more about...
Mine is for sale, and I am looking for a 197 hehe ;) If you read the 'revised gearbox' thread - you'll see why. Although really, I want an R27, and I have a man coming to view her soon who is very interested so it might be already sold dude! Although, it can't hurt for you to PM the spec and...
Me neither really, but driving gods always say RWD FTW heh. The Vee does have a monumental amount of grip though. I don't think I'm really a good enough driver to say either way though to be honest - me crossing the limits in the Vee would mean a biblical accident heh, Tiff Needell crossing...
+1 to whoever pointed out 5:30. Why did he just seem to ignore the fact it was on the grass, and well out of shape, go ahead and change gear, then snatch at it when the slide became major...? Ok, I'm not, by ANY means a driving god, but ffs... I know some people say cut him some slack, but...
Randomly pulling my irrelevent experience into this heh - I feel as though I could have more fun in a 197 than the Vee. The Vee turns more heads and driving it is more of an 'event' - I don't think anyone would disagree with me there? And if you're a driving god it arguably will outhandle the...
Aye dude been having a look hehe. To be fair, if he does decide for sure to sell, it's the spec I'd be looking for really. I.e. none of the extras, R27, no roof decals, red :)
But, we'll see, don't wanna count any chickens heh!

The one I tested yesterday was a 197 Cup, it was their Demo and the salesman was an old guy knew his stuff, he said the salesmen who had it before him had run it on 95, and when he got it he started running it on V-Power, and it made quite a difference, and he gained 3mpg or so.
Anywho, it...
I'd be looking for at least £11k on that mate to be honest. Ok, there are some out there for less, even one for £9.2k ffs! But they're very early 06ers with more miles, that £9.8k black one does sound a bargain, but IMHO Nimbus might help you as well when people see it 'in the flesh' :)
Dan
I was thrapping the Cup I test drove yesterday and I went round every bend and thought "To be fair, I could've gone round there 30mph quicker". Chassis was unbeleiveable.
Dan
Thanks for all the advice guys - and Alan, I will be back in touch once I have cash in hand :) What year reg/mileage is yours just as a matter of interest? Any chance of a link to a thread with pics just to get me dribbling ;)? Got someone quite interested in the Vee so company with a little...
